By the time Itachi arrived, Shisui was already drinking, his little face flushed with alcohol.
"Have a couple?"
"No, I'm still on duty." Without sitting down, Itachi set the documents on the noisy izakaya counter and said, "Everything I could find is here. It may not be what you're looking for."
"Thanks." Shisui picked up the documents, opened them, and lowered his head to look through them.
"If there's nothing else, I'll be going." Itachi said.
"See you." Shisui nodded.
After a moment of silence, Itachi said, "Brother, think about the family when you act. Don't be too impulsive."
Shisui was just about to nod instinctively when he paused and looked up at Itachi. A smile spread across his face as he said, "You little brat, you're lecturing me now? If there's nothing else, get lost."
"Good that you know." Itachi said, "Don't make me, your little brother, worry so much."
"Got it, got it." Shisui waved his hand and lowered his head to look at the documents.
Itachi left.
As time passed by the second, Shisui finished roughly browsing through the documents in his hands, and a trace of disappointment showed in his eyes.
There was nothing particularly noteworthy in the records. On the surface, they did not reveal the slightest flaw.
The trail had gone cold once again.
Was this where it ended?
A man's intuition told Shisui that something was wrong here.
Normal methods could no longer produce any further progress. As a ninja, it was time to employ ninja methods.
From here on out, this would be a criminal operation.
