From a broader perspective, if a material was applied in only one field, its scope would be too narrow. It would neither bring out the material's full potential nor make full use of their own initiative.
There were far too many fields that required optical materials. As the leading player in the mobile phone ODM industry, Hua Long Technology had, in recent years, not only cultivated the mobile phone sector but also actively expanded into other display industries, such as smart wearable displays, automotive displays, laptop displays, television displays, electricity and water meter displays, and so on.
Du Yu's idea was largely aligned with his own.
Beyond mobile phone displays, FY-01 could absolutely be expanded into those other fields as well.
That was why conducting reliability testing for 500 hours, or even 1,000 hours, was very necessary.
After all, mobile phones were fast-moving consumer electronics. They were replaced every two years, sometimes even every six months or every year, so consumers did not actually demand that much from mobile phone displays.
If one broke after being used for a while, so be it. They would only assume they had accidentally damaged it somewhere, then either buy another phone or make do with it.
On the contrary, those inconspicuous products that seemed low-end and not particularly demanding often had even higher reliability requirements.
Take electricity and water meters, for example. These were standards promoted by State Grid and State Water Affairs. They were used in obscure corners, yet their positions were extremely central and critical. They often had to function without problems for eight or ten years. If even a minor problem arose after eight or ten years, customers would still come after you with the product and demand compensation. Ordinary companies simply could not afford to play that game.

Standards, standards. Most domestic companies used standards when it benefited them and altered them when it did not. They did not take them seriously at all, which resulted in most products being high-quality for export and low-quality for domestic sales.
