Tang Wulin as a Child (Seeking Investment! Seeking Recommendation Ticket!)
"Mom, my Martial Soul has awakened!"
Jing Shaoyu ran downstairs and excitedly rushed toward Jing Ziyuan, who had been waiting anxiously below. He shouted in exhilaration. Although he had awakened the memories of his past life, he was still a six-year-old child at this moment—and he truly was excited.
"Wonderful!" Seeing Jing Shaoyu so excited, Jing Ziyuan finally let go of the worry in her heart. She immediately stepped forward and hugged him, asking expectantly, "A Yu, what is your Martial Soul? And what level is your Innate Soul Power?"
"Hehe!" Jing Shaoyu smiled proudly. "My Martial Soul is called the Origin Spirit. As for my soul power... Mom, why don't you guess?"
"You little rascal, still keeping me in suspense at a time like this!" Jing Ziyuan pretended to be displeased as she tapped Jing Shaoyu's forehead, but she still cooperatively guessed, "Mom guesses... hmm, level five!"
"Too low!"
"Too low?!" Jing Ziyuan cried out in surprise, drawing dissatisfied glances from parents nearby who were anxiously waiting for their own children's awakening results. But she did not notice at all. Her mind was entirely focused on Jing Shaoyu's answer. She murmured, "Goodness, even level five soul power is too low. Does that mean my A Yu has Innate Soul Power above level five? He's a genius!"
"Hehe, Mom, let's go home first. I'll tell you my soul power on the way back!" Jing Shaoyu said with a grin, taking Jing Ziyuan's hand and leading her outside.
Jing Ziyuan was still dazed at that moment, so she simply let Jing Shaoyu pull her along.
The mother and son passed through the plaza where they had waited earlier. Quite a few parents and children were still there.
"Tang Wulin!"
At that moment, Jing Shaoyu suddenly heard a familiar name. He immediately stopped, causing Jing Ziyuan, whom he had been dragging along, to bump into him. She instantly came back to herself and asked in confusion, "A Yu, what's wrong?"
"I just want Mom to hold my hand and lead me," Jing Shaoyu said sweetly, giving Jing Ziyuan an affectionate smile.
"Alright, alright. Then Mom will lead A Yu!" Jing Ziyuan replied with an indulgent smile, rubbing his head as she spoke.
The mother and son switched places and continued on. Yet Jing Shaoyu turned back, his gaze falling on the teacher who had called the name. A beautiful little boy with short black hair and large eyes ran toward him. Upon seeing that boy, Jing Shaoyu's eyes widened.
There was no doubt that boy was Tang Wulin as a child, a protagonist who had been so upright in his early years that he seemed nothing like the son of Great God King Tang. His existence was a perfect illustration of how one's family and parents influenced a child for life.
Because Tang Wulin had not been raised personally by Great God King Tang, his overall conduct was practically a breath of fresh air compared to the other members of the Tang Family.
Jing Shaoyu withdrew his gaze. If nothing unexpected happened, he and Tang Wulin would become classmates starting tomorrow. Although the young Tang Wulin was an honest, brave, independent, strong, hardworking, and diligent good child, Jing Shaoyu felt it was best to let their relationship develop naturally. If they got along, they could be friends. If not, it would be better to keep their distance.
He had no interest in sucking up to anyone from the Tang Family.
Compared to that, Na'er's little feet were tiny and fragrant. He was much more willing to lick—ah, no, to flatter them. Hehe.
"A Yu, what are you grinning foolishly about? Why are you even drooling?" Seeing Jing Shaoyu's silly smile, Jing Ziyuan worriedly touched his forehead, wondering if the child had been so stimulated by his high Innate Soul Power that he had gone into a daze. "Ah, it's nothing. I'm just a little hungry," Jing Shaoyu replied, quickly wiping his mouth and changing the subject.
"Is that so?" Jing Ziyuan looked at the sky and said, "It's already noon. It is time for lunch. Forget it, let's eat lunch before going home."
"Sure!" Jing Shaoyu naturally did not object. He really was hungry, and his empty stomach had been growling nonstop.
"By the way, A Yu, you still haven't told Mom how much Innate Soul Power you have?" Jing Ziyuan pushed the bicycle while Jing Shaoyu sat on the rear seat, and the mother and son walked along the roadside as she asked.
"Hehe!" Jing Shaoyu smiled mysteriously, then leaned close to Jing Ziyuan's ear and quietly told her that he had Innate Full Soul Power.
"What?!" Jing Ziyuan instantly stopped walking and stood there blankly. The expression on her face changed several times before she finally hugged Jing Shaoyu almost frantically, crying and laughing at the same time, frightening the passersby nearby.
"Mom, calm down, calm down!" Jing Shaoyu could only free one arm and gently pat Jing Ziyuan's back as he spoke softly.
It was no wonder Jing Ziyuan was so excited. Though Jing Shaoyu was nominally an orphan from the orphanage, his household registration was actually under Jing Ziyuan's name. Thus, there was absolutely nothing wrong with calling Jing Shaoyu Jing Ziyuan's son.
After the Federal Orphanage had been abolished, the Aolai City Administrative Office had stopped providing funds to the orphanage. Therefore, Jing Ziyuan had used her own money to raise Jing Shaoyu all these years. To Jing Shaoyu, Jing Ziyuan was his true mother.
Once Jing Ziyuan calmed down, her delicate face was filled with a joyful smile. "Come on, A Yu. To celebrate, Mom will take you out for a big meal!"
"Yay, a big meal!" Jing Shaoyu cheered, but then seemed to realize something and quickly added, "Wait, Mom, let's go back and bring Aunt Lin Xin and Na'er with us!"
"Of course!" Jing Ziyuan was thrilled and readily agreed. She climbed onto the bicycle and said, "A Yu, hold on tight to Mom!"
The bicycle sped down the road.
Not long after Jing Ziyuan and her son left Red Mountain Academy, a black sedan stopped at the academy entrance. The door opened, and a middle-aged man dressed in Spirit Pagoda robes quickly stepped out. He headed straight into Red Mountain Academy.
The middle-aged man hurried all the way to the Awakening Chamber and went directly up to the sixth floor.
"Tower Master!" Su Haichao, the Spirit Master on the sixth floor, cried out in surprise upon seeing the middle-aged man.
"Give me Jing Shaoyu's file and awakening record!" the middle-aged man known as the Tower Master said bluntly.
"Oh, right!" Upon hearing this, Su Haichao immediately picked up Jing Shaoyu's already-organized file from among the materials on the many awakened children and handed it to the middle-aged man.
"Very good. You did well!" The middle-aged man took the file and glanced through it before saying to Su Haichao in satisfaction, "I'll remember this as a merit."
"Thank you for your praise, Tower Master!" Su Haichao said excitedly, bowing deeply.
However, when he straightened up, the middle-aged Tower Master had already disappeared. A wry smile appeared on his face as he murmured, "The Tower Master is as decisive and efficient as ever."
At the orphanage, Na'er sat in front of the orphanage gates, staring eagerly down the road outside. Whenever someone rode a bicycle toward them from afar, she would show an expectant expression. But when she saw clearly that it was not Jing Ziyuan and Jing Shaoyu, she would lower her head in disappointment.
"Na'er, we're back!"
Just as Na'er lowered her head sadly, Jing Shaoyu and Jing Ziyuan returned. Jing Shaoyu spotted Na'er sitting at the entrance at once. He jumped straight off the bicycle and, under Jing Ziyuan's annoyed and worried gaze, ran toward Na'er.
"Ah, Brother, why did you take so long to come back?" Na'er lifted her head, her little face full of delight, though she put on an angry act as she questioned him in a sweet voice.
"Hehe, there were just too many people awakening!" Jing Shaoyu said with a laugh, taking Na'er's little hand with a hint of apology. "I'm really sorry for making you wait so anxiously, Na'er."
"Hmph! I forgive you!" The little girl was easy to placate, and she replied in a tender voice.
"Na'er, where is Aunt Lin Xin?" Jing Ziyuan parked the bicycle, walked over to the brother and sister, and asked Na'er.
"Aunt is making lunch," Na'er answered.
"So that's how it is." Upon hearing this, Jing Ziyuan immediately walked into the courtyard and shouted toward the kitchen, "Lin Xin, no need to make lunch! We're eating out at noon today!"
Before long, Aunt Lin Xin poked her head out from the kitchen and asked in delighted surprise, "Eating out? Then A Yu's awakening result must have been very good!"
"That's right!" Jing Ziyuan replied with proud satisfaction.
"That's wonderful! Hurry up and tell me about it!" Aunt Lin Xin came out of the kitchen, her face filled with joy.
