Jing Shaoyu, Gu Yue, and Xu Xiaoyan completed the Ninth Assessment and received their final evaluations from Shrek Academy’s elders. All three were accepted into the academy, and they celebrated together.

• Shen Yi explained that the Ninth Assessment tested the candidates’ character, praised Jing Shaoyu for sparing the Young Three-Eyed Golden Lion, and warned that hunting the remaining Soul Beasts could lead to expulsion.

As Shen Yi drove them to the academy, she explained Zhuo Shi’s role and the work-study rules, while Jing Shaoyu suggested that Zhuo Shi might welcome Wu Zhangkong back.

• Ye Yingluo celebrated Jing Shaoyu, Xu Xiaoyan, and Gu Yue’s acceptance and said she would wait for news about Tang Wulin and Xie Xie before returning to Eastsea City.

• Ya Li finished styling Na'er's hair and learned that Na'er was thinking about her brother.
• Na'er asked Ya Li if she could attend the Outer Academy, and Ya Li told her to seek Yun Ming's approval.
• Yun Ming arrived and agreed to let Na'er attend the Outer Academy, delighting her.

Jing Shaoyu went to the cafeteria with Xu Xiaoyan and Gu Yue, where they met Tang Wulin drawing attention by eating an enormous meal. The chapter ended with Jing Shaoyu and the girls enjoying their food together after meeting his cold new roommate.

• Jing Shaoyu woke up to Xu Xiaoyan and Gu Yue at his dorm door and invited them inside.

Jing Shaoyu, Gu Yue, and Xu Xiaoyan explored Shrek Academy and witnessed Yue Zhengyu harass Yuan En Yehui at a milk tea shop. After Yuan En Yehui quit and left, the two revealed their Angel and Fallen Angel Martial Souls, but a Law Enforcement Elder stopped their fight.

• Jing Shaoyu, Gu Yue, and Xu Xiaoyan visited a milk tea shop while exploring Shrek Academy.
• Yue Zhengyu demanded Yuan En Yehui's Soul Communication number, then bought the shop after its owner refused to disclose it.

Jing Shaoyu began life at Shrek Academy, met his aloof roommate Mo Hentian, and attended the Opening Ceremony with Gu Yue and Xu Xiaoyan. The trio discovered Cai Yue'er would be their homeroom teacher and were seated at the front of the classroom under her watchful eye.

• Jing Shaoyu cultivated his soul power and Mental Power, aiming to reach the Spirit Abyss Realm before becoming a Soul King.
• Jing Shaoyu introduced himself to Mo Hentian, then met Gu Yue and Xu Xiaoyan for breakfast before the Opening Ceremony.

• Shen Yi announced that the cadet count had fallen below half, and Jing Shaoyu grabbed Gu Yue and Xu Xiaoyan as the battlefield shifted around them.

• Luo Guixing sent Wei Zheng to attack Xu Xiaoyan while Luo Ya struck the Azure Moon Willow, but Xu Xiaoyan dodged and Jing Shaoyu and Gu Yue countered with a Wind-Fire Lotus that eliminated Luo Ya and Yang Zhigang.
• Jing Shaoyu and his teammates forced Wei Zheng and Luo Guixing out of the arena, leaving Wu Siduo as their remaining opponent.
• Wu Siduo attacked Jing Shaoyu but was restrained by Xu Xiaoyan’s Star Chain and struck by Gu Yue’s Ice Spears.
