The Shadowless Imperial Guard was superbly equipped. It could be said that the entire nation's strength had gone into them; after all, if those Taotie were not stopped, the whole country would perish.
Even so, their armor was not made entirely of steel. All-steel armor could never have been so flexible. Their armor resembled scale mail, crafted by attaching small iron plates to leather and fur.
Such scale mail was flexible enough and offered decent protection as well.
Of course, Jiang Yan Hai had also noticed something important that differed somewhat from his memories: aside from the generals, the Shadowless Imperial Guard soldiers did not wear capes... After all, other than looking impressive, what use were those things?
Wouldn't they obviously become a burden in battle? Especially in Cold Weapon combat—what good was a cape? Unless it was made from some ridiculously strong spider silk or something, allowing it to defend against arrows from behind.
Even if such a material truly existed, it probably would not be made into a cape. Wouldn't it be better to turn it into underclothes and wear it underneath?
The plates on this scale mail could not really be called steel either. The smelting industry of this era was not that advanced. At best, it was better than cast iron and had the beginnings of steel, but it was still far from the standard of modern ordinary steel.
Even so, being able to equip so many soldiers on such a large scale was already extremely formidable.
"Do you have any meat? If so, you can put the meat inside the scale mail," Jiang Yan Hai said with a smile.
The pistol on him was a standard military sidearm. The Data Analysis System had already analyzed all of this scale mail. Even the finer scale armor
