You're Underestimating Me (Part 2)

"Heh, this is interesting." Jiang Yan Hai looked over what he had found and could not help but smile.

Jiang Yan Hai had found quite a few vulnerabilities, but several of them had obviously been deliberately left there. He could tell because they were far too conspicuous.

To an ordinary person, forget vulnerabilities—even if your system was full of holes, they probably would not notice.

But to a computer expert, those vulnerabilities were as glaring as a huge hole in the wall of a newly delivered house.

More importantly, to fix those vulnerabilities, he first had to crack an encryption—and that encryption... normal systems would never encrypt that section.

Even if this was a military system, that part would not be encrypted.

So they wanted to test him?

Jiang Yan Hai smiled, amusement flashing through his eyes. They wanted to play? Fine, then they could play. Originally, he had planned to honestly fix that vulnerability and finish up the related materials.

But work was a little boring. Since someone was looking for entertainment, he might as well have some fun.

But if they wanted to test him, were they not underestimating him by using something this trivial?

Inside the emergency response center's special computer room.

"Report! He discovered what we set up." One of the members immediately spoke up.

"Oh? Not bad. At least he has basic vigilance." Lu Zhou nodded. "Keep monitoring him. Let's see how he handles it and whether he can crack the trap we set."

"Yes!" Everyone in the room nodded.

After a pause, another person beside Lu Zhou hesitated before speaking. "But... what if he does not touch it? When we gave him those devices, did we not specifically tell him not to mess with our programs?"

"He will." Lu Zhou looked confident. "Did they not say this Jiang Yan Hai is an expert? If he is an expert, trust me—whenever he gets his hands on a computer, he will first take a look at the system."

"All right." The others exchanged glances and said no more, focusing on the monitoring.

Although they could monitor him remotely, they could only monitor the programs and system on Jiang Yan Hai's computer. There were no cameras or anything like that, so they could not see his expression.

Nor could they monitor every program. At the very least, Jiang Yan Hai had already quietly blocked part of their surveillance.

He had not touched the monitoring program itself, but he could quietly block it and do other things afterward.

But after everyone waited for about twenty minutes, the other side still had not made any move.

If the other party truly refused to play along with them, then they... really could not do anything about it.

After all, they had said from the beginning that this was not his actual assignment.

"Forget it. Keep monitoring him." Lu Zhou felt rather frustrated. What were they supposed to do when they ran into someone who did not play by the rules?

Now, after bypassing that encrypted section, Jiang Yan Hai used the system structure and source code scanned by his program to quickly decompile it.

The data and source code confirmed one another against the hacking knowledge in his mind, and countless ideas continuously emerged.

Those ideas and data soon immersed Jiang Yan Hai completely. After all, when he had first received that knowledge, he had only tested a small portion of it.

But now was the time to verify it as a whole and fully absorb and understand it.

Whenever someone could immerse themselves in something, they would develop a deep interest in it and lose track of time.

He had already forgotten his original plan to toy with the people behind the scenes.

At that moment, there was only one thought in his mind: to combine every idea and creative notion in his head and make it even more streamlined!

And with that, three days passed!

When the equipment had first been delivered, it was already evening, so Ding Tian had not shown up. When Jiang Yan Hai did not come out the next morning, Ding Tian did not think much of it.

But by noon on the second day, Jiang Yan Hai still had not come out. Ding Tian could not hold back any longer and pushed open the door. He found Jiang Yan Hai still sitting before the computer, his face filled with excitement as he worked on something.

Jiang Yan Hai had reached a critical point in his coding. At that moment, his mind was filled entirely with code and countless novel ideas for the system.

Ding Tian froze. Then he became annoyed. Damn it, I only called you Commander because I was following orders. Do you really think you're a Commander? You damn New Recruit!

Just as he was about to argue, he saw that Jiang Yan Hai had not spared him even a scrap of attention. His focus was utterly concentrated, as though he had already forgotten Ding Tian existed.

After a long while, Ding Tian could only let out a dejected sigh before turning and leaving.
