Two hours later, Jiang Yan Hai had arrived at Base No. 9. A Phantom Fighter Jet had accompanied him, and while aboard the Phantom, its powerful electronic systems had already received the intelligence transmitted from the ground.
What Jiang Yan Hai had reviewed with Er Dan in his mind was that this base was somewhat similar to the Yu City base. The difference was that it was located inside the Qilian Mountains and was likewise accessed through a tunnel. However, this road was sealed off.
Ordinary civilians could not drive onto this road because it was not connected to the outside world. The only town it connected to was, in fact, a small village inhabited by the research base's personnel and their families.
In the northwest, towns like this had small populations and covered little ground. Located in a remote corner, they normally had no contact with outsiders.
Even the locals did not know this information. They merely thought there was a small town here.
The other side of the tunnel had actually been deliberately blown shut. To outsiders, however, it would simply appear that the entire tunnel had collapsed, making entry impossible from the other side. The road on that end had also been abandoned.
In reality, this was the entire secret research base. It covered a vast area, and its tunnel was equally spacious. The twenty-two-meter-wide tunnel could theoretically accommodate any fighter jet, but it had not been built that wide for fighter jets to enter.
It was because special experimental equipment sometimes had to be transported through it, and much of that equipment was quite large. That was why the tunnel had been built on such a massive scale from the very beginning.
The base had hollowed out the entire mountain interior and used Nuclear Protection Engineering.
