Chapter Summaries

During a deadly selection trial, Wang Ye awakened Luo Jiuning, the Nine Heavens Empress, as his Martial Soul and demonstrated a power that forced Pope Bibi Dong and Yue Guan to their knees. Bibi Dong decided to take the apparently unconscious Wang Ye to the Pope’s Palace and raise him as an ally.

• Wang Ye killed the other trial participants after surviving the initial slaughter, then absorbed a blood cocoon that formed from the bodies around him.
• Luo Jiuning appeared as Wang Ye’s Martial Soul, identified herself as the Nine Heavens Empress, and declared that he would be her disciple.
• Bibi Dong and Yue Guan arrived at the Trial Field as dark clouds gathered, and Wang Ye’s aura forced both of them to their knees.
• Wang Ye suppressed Luo Jiuning’s pressure, pretended to faint, and avoided revealing what he knew about Bibi Dong and Yue Guan.

During a butterfly-catching outing, Zhu Zhuqing chose to release the butterflies after realizing they had lost their freedom, then decided to make flower crowns as handmade gifts for Qian Chengxiao and the girls. The group gathered in the flower field to learn from her, with Qian Chengxiao asking to make one for her too.
