The archer felt that he had finally done himself proud after all these years.
Over three years, he had gone from being the feared executioner of a mercenary band—or, to outsiders, something more like an assassin organization—to the guitarist of a famous band.
Too much had happened to Yevirk Serpent over the past few years. Though it had been filled with dangers and he had lost quite a few companions, everything was moving in a better direction.
The former desperadoes now all had respectable lives—very respectable ones.
The archer really should have told his parents that before long, he would be performing on the most famous stage in the world.
Unfortunately, his parents had passed away long ago. Now, his only family was his older sister and everyone in the mercenary band.
The archer was living a good life now... aside from the fact that he still did not have anyone he fancied.
After all, all eight pillars of Yevirk Serpent already had partners. His sister was engaged to their captain, Reyek. Luo Na had married his lover ages ago, and in another year, he would probably even have a child.
Even Morris, the most reserved Chaos Demon swordsman, had found a lover.
Only the archer had no lover. He had not even held a woman's hand.
Unless getting beaten up by his sister counted!
So, during this Chanter of the World competition, the archer had another important mission: successfully leaving the ranks of the single. Put simply, finding someone he liked.
