Joshua had been forcibly dragged into the Consciousness Space by the white bird while he was sound asleep that night.

Joshua yawned as he sat in the temporary settlement the Ascendants had built. At Joshua's suggestion, the Ascendants had specifically found a place in the Consciousness Space... and built an open-air café.
Matriarch Yin Sha was now seated across from Joshua, while the white bird stood on the table between them.
"Child of the Forest, forgive me for disturbing your sleep, but my friend discovered something unusual."
The white bird flapped its wings and landed on Joshua's shoulder. The white cat representing the Frost Elf World Tree jumped onto the table.

With Tylinn absent, the white bird had no choice but to act as the white cat's translator.
"This may be a city in the real world that has been occupied by those monsters."
