Deep within the island on Behemoth's back.
Black Feather awoke from his slumber, clutching his forehead... Being killed twice in succession in the dream world had not felt good.
The first thing he did upon waking was check the crystal ball beside him. It was made of some unknown material, and a dim gray sphere had gathered at its center.
But the dim gray sphere was tiny, about the size of a little fingernail.
Black Feather stared at the gray sphere inside the crystal ball, cold sweat pouring down his forehead.
"You have not brought me enough nourishment."
A muffled voice echoed behind Black Feather. He immediately turned around and saw a pitch-black figure. He stood at least eight feet tall, yet his limbs were unnaturally thin and long.
The figure wore a bird-like beaked mask over his face. All Black Feather could see behind the mask's eye lenses was darkness.
"M-Messenger, I encountered a group of obstructers. They can use magic within dreams."
An emotion called fear consumed him at that moment. He even dropped to his knees and begged for mercy from the being known as the Messenger.
"But you still failed. Do you know what becomes of failures?"
The Messenger's voice carried no emotion, but Black Feather could feel a bone-chilling killing intent enveloping his entire body.
A finger touched Black Feather's cheek. All he could feel was the pain of something corroding his flesh... Fear made his body tremble uncontrollably.
"Just like that." The Messenger's voice murmured by his ear. The fear within Black Feather gradually began to fade, and his consciousness became hazy.
His instinctive fear warned him to flee, but after only a few seconds, the emotion of fear no longer existed in his mind.
