That evening, Joshua found an empty room on the third floor of the Hearthstone tavern to serve as the testing site for the "New Dungeon."
The testers were all members of the Foya Adventure Team. Joshua was also one of the team's members, but due to the location's limitations, only Tylinn and Ciri were present in the room.
"Why... did the infusion fail again?!"
While Joshua was waiting for the party to assemble, Ciri logged into the Horde Main City to enhance her equipment.
The result was that when Ciri placed the soul she had obtained from the Rift Lord into the furnace, intending to grant her equipment the Rift Lord's soul power, a cold failure notification popped up.
Another notification made Ciri's heart sink: "The Rift Lord's soul power has destroyed your equipment."
"I forgot to mention this. If you already have more than two pieces of equipment infused with the same soul, there's a chance that trying to add that same soul to a third piece of equipment... will fail."
At present, the highest-ranking Rift Lord in the World Rift was the Firelord. His soul could drastically alter an item's attributes.
But the Firelord's power was not so easy to control. Once a greedy adventurer tried to empower three pieces of equipment with the Firelord's soul, there was a high chance the equipment would collapse because it could not withstand the power.
Of course... that was just part of the design. Joshua simply wanted players to make greater use of other souls' effects.
"Does it still count if I put all my equipment in the warehouse?"
Ciri knew about this mechanic, of course, so before enhancing her gear, she had stored all the equipment she had crafted in the warehouse.
"It counts. Ciri, what did you break?" Joshua
