The conversations in the camp were a chaotic mess. Lloydel could see all kinds of transparent boxes constantly popping up above the heroes' heads, filled with walls of text.
She admitted that Joshua had summoned a great many heroes, but... Lloydel simply could not call this group an army. They looked more like a pack of unrestrained tourists.
"Those monsters..."
As Lloydel stood amid the chaos of the crowd surrounding her, she suddenly remembered the city outside, which was being besieged by a horde of monsters!
She pushed her way through the crowd around her, found the stairs leading up to the city wall, and climbed to its highest point to look out over the plains.
The monster horde that had originally been rapidly approaching had been completely torn apart. Across the vast plains, they had been divided into hundreds of separate battlefields.
Just as Lloydel had expected, these heroes had no discipline whatsoever. Only a small portion fought in squads, while even more hunted the monsters alone across the battlefield.
Yet this completely disorderless army had slaughtered the monsters that had once blanketed the plains like dark clouds, leaving only a few isolated survivors in less than two hours.
If this world had any laws protecting monsters, they would probably have been classified as top-level protected creatures.
Unfortunately, they would never live to see such laws enacted. With the rise and fall of a warrior's blade, the last monster on the plains was wiped out by the adventurers.
This had been a war without any suspense. Or rather... Lloydel could not describe what she had witnessed as a war. It was more like a swarm of locusts passing through.
"I think you can open the Second Layer now."
As Lloydel pondered this, Joshua's character came to her side. She
