Charlie King paused for a moment, his movements suspicious.
For an instant, he felt as though he hadn't opened the door to find an enemy crouching outside, but had merely picked up a little girl with nowhere to go in the middle of the night.
But... why did this hobby seem a little familiar? Could it be that people suited to the Fate pathway all liked ice cream?
How could it be possible to choose people like that? That was far too childish, wasn't it? Charlie King couldn't help laughing out loud at his own thought. He shook his head and said to Alice, "Sorry, I don't have that kind of thing here."
Alice's facial features immediately scrunched up. As she walked over to the sofa, she hesitantly made her choice. "Then... then coffee."
Charlie King felt a trace of bewilderment as he watched Alice actually begin ordering.
After brewing the coffee, he watched Alice add sugar cubes and naturally prepare to take a sip. He finally couldn't help asking, "Aren't you worried that I poisoned it?"
Alice watched Charlie King laugh as though he had remembered something amusing, then say to her, "Sorry, I don't have that kind of thing here."
Alice felt somewhat disappointed, since neither coffee nor black tea was something she liked. She hesitated for a moment, but ultimately stopped being picky and chose coffee.
Once Charlie King placed the brewed coffee, already sweetened and mixed with milk, in front of her, she added two more sugar cubes before lifting it to try a sip.
She heard Charlie King ask in confusion, "Aren't you worried that I poisoned it?"
Alice seriously considered this grave question.
She hadn't doubted Charlie King when he handed her the Calamity Priest potion formula, because she genuinely hadn't expected it.
