This Tarot Club meeting ended with a speechless declaration from the World.
Alice was not at all surprised to be kept behind. She looked at Klein, who showed no sign of speaking first, and in the sudden silence, she remembered what had happened earlier.
Alice pressed her lips together and looked at Klein pleadingly. "Kleeein~"
"...Don't talk like that." Klein's composure broke instantly, and he shuddered.
Alice closed her mouth and gave him a pitiful look instead.
"...And don't look at me like that." Klein averted his eyes. "Just explain yourself properly. Don't do this. You're scaring me a little."
Alice lowered her head, looking utterly dejected.
When Alice said nothing, Klein had no choice but to look back at her and see how forlorn she seemed.
Even though he knew perfectly well that Alice was acting, Klein still pinched his brow helplessly and softened his voice.
"Some things aren't jokes you can make lightly. If you'd thought I died back in Tingen City, then one day suddenly discovered I was alive and had lied to you, how would you feel?"
Alice immediately remembered her discussion with the Goddess. She pressed her lips together, looked up at Klein, and said stubbornly, "You won't die! I won't let you die!"
Her reaction was far more intense than Klein had expected. He had to soften his voice even further. "Hypothetically. I'm only speaking hypothetically. And I didn't even say I died in that example, did I?"
Alice bit her lip and stared at Klein. Then she abruptly said a name: "Leonard."
Klein frowned at once. Right. If Leonard discovered he was alive, it would fit his example perfectly. But...
Klein looked at Alice and, after a moment's thought, asked, "Is there a Marauder Angel with Leonard?"
Alice nodded with an odd expression.
