Alice silently followed behind. Before she had gone far, she was led into a building, then taken around several turns until they reached the top.
"The High Priest is waiting for you inside." After saying this, her guide left Alice's sight.
After a brief hesitation, Alice raised her hand and knocked twice. A moment later, Nim's voice came from behind the door:
"Come in."
Alice pushed the door open and entered. This seemed to be a place for discussions. She saw a long table and the tables and chairs around it, but Nim was not standing by the long table. He was by a window.
Alice walked over curiously and looked outside through the window, discovering that this vantage point gave her a rough view of all of Moon City.
"How did you rest?" Nim asked.
Alice paused for a moment, then turned to him and asked very directly:
"Aren't you going to ask who I am? Or have me prove my identity or something...?"
"According to the orders of the great Sun God..." A reminiscent expression appeared on Nim's face. "Once we discovered someone who had emerged from that fog, we were to immediately recite His Honorific Name, tell Him everything, and welcome the visitor..."
Alice was slightly stunned.
As though he hadn't noticed her expression, Nim continued:
"But we have long since lost the Sun, and likewise lost all responses from the Sun God. Yet we have continued to hold our ground here. Of course we would welcome you."
After lowering her head to think for two seconds, Alice turned and asked, "Then have you... um... reported my arrival?"
Nim's expression gave her the answer. Clearly, this had been another prayer with no response.
Alice opened her mouth, not knowing what to say, but Nim took the initiative
