So he only became a Demigod at forty... Alice calculated the man's age and looked him up and down. Klein continued asking:
"When did you convert to my Lord's faith?"
The "Lord" here referred to the Lord of the Underworld.
Brayan recalled for two or three seconds before saying, "Back then, I had just celebrated my thirtieth birthday."
...Huh?
He only embarked on the Beyonder path at thirty and became a Demigod at forty. Although that speed was nothing compared to Klein's, the very fact that he could be compared to Klein already said a great deal.
As for herself... Alice didn't think the advancement route of the Fate Pathway had any reference value.
Recalling Brayan's origins, Alice lowered her head and realized that Brayan might be connected to the Artificial Death.
—That also explained why he had received a divine oracle.
It sounded as though the Goddess could probably only contact him.
Klein had already continued his questioning:
"What is your public identity now?"
"I am a merchant. I operate two garment factories in Backlund, publicly worship the Goddess of the Night, and support the New Party..." Patrick Brain introduced himself.
...Huh?
Knowing full well what lay beneath the shell of the Artificial Death now, Alice was genuinely stunned. She opened her mouth wide in amazement, utterly impressed.
What a devout believer indeed!
Klein felt much the same as Alice, but no abnormality showed on his face as he said:
"How many Spirit Lodge members do you have under you, and what are they doing?"
Brayan had clearly prepared in advance and answered smoothly:
"Two groups, twelve Beyonders. Some work at my garment factories, while others work at watch shops. Each has a legitimate profession.
"Under normal circumstances, they cautiously spread the faith of God among those around them.
