Ch. 387Source of Danger

Cattleya warned Alice, Klein, and the Future’s crew that the sea around the Ruins of Du Xu threatened Beyonders with unpredictable dangers and maddening sounds. When Heath Doyle sensed a corpse in the ruins, Cattleya ordered the ship to steer clear, and Klein asked him to restore the dining room so he could eat breakfast.

  • Cattleya explained that the sea held drifting ruins, mutated monsters, and dangers that could kill without leaving evidence behind.
  • Cattleya said the unpredictable hazards endangered low- and mid-Sequence Beyonders, while Demigods risked madness or losing control from hearing strange sounds.
  • As the Future approached the ruins, Alice and Heath Doyle sensed a corpse amid the stones, and Cattleya ordered the crew to bypass the area.
  • The crew steered the Future around the ruins, and Heath Doyle recovered after they passed.
  • Alice saw starlight surrounding Heath Doyle and associated it with Bernadette before Klein asked whether the dining room could be restored.

Ch. 388The Sun, the Moon, and the Stars

Alice and Klein encountered a mysterious floating island beneath a blazing sun, and Cattleya warned the Future’s crew not to look at it. As the sun vanished and stars appeared, Cattleya ordered everyone to sleep, leaving Klein watching Alice head for her cabin.

  • Alice spotted a sunlit scene in the distance and warned Klein not to look.
  • A floating island supported by four enormous diamond pillars came into view, and two golden steeds pulled a chariot from it.
  • Cattleya ordered everyone on deck to lower their heads, and the crew avoided looking directly at the sun.
  • Alice proposed visiting the island to take its diamonds, but Klein insisted she stay within his or Cattleya’s sight.
  • When darkness fell and stars appeared, Cattleya told the crew to sleep or risk disappearing forever.
  • Alice went to her cabin to sleep and asked Klein why he was still standing there.

Ch. 389Invitation

Alice, Klein, and Heath Doyle entered a shared dream where a city resembling the Giant King's Court stood frozen in twilight. Heath invited Alice and Klein to explore, but Alice questioned his ability to stay awake and the knowledge he claimed to have, while Cattleya remained asleep and knew nothing of his supposed good fortune.

  • Alice woke in the shared dream and recognized the distant city as the Giant King's Court.
  • Heath Doyle invited Klein to explore the dream, and Klein followed him to Alice and Cattleya.
  • Alice asked why Heath could stay awake when Cattleya could not, and Heath claimed a stroke of good fortune had given him the ability.
  • Heath said the dream held dangers and opportunities, and Alice questioned whether he truly knew more about it than he should.
  • Alice asked Cattleya whether she had known of Heath's ability to stay awake in dreams, and Cattleya said she had not.

Ch. 390Key

In the Dream, Heath Doyle admitted he was searching for a magical Key and claimed Klein and Alice were destined to help him, but Alice’s spiritual attack ended the dream before he could explain. After waking, Alice gathered Cattleya, Klein, and Heath to ask what had happened, and Heath said he had never been able to stay awake in dreams before that day.

  • Alice questioned Heath Doyle’s motives, and he admitted he wanted to find something in the Dream but did not know where it was.
  • Heath Doyle revealed he was searching for a Key that could unlock all treasures and insisted that he and his companions were destined to obtain it.
  • Alice attacked Heath Doyle’s spirit, disrupting his fervor and preventing him from escaping into the shadows.
  • The Dream ended in blinding sunlight, and Alice woke after only half an hour had passed.
  • Alice summoned Cattleya, Klein, and Heath Doyle to the Captain's Cabin to ask about the Key and Heath’s supposed fortuitous encounter.
  • Heath Doyle said he did not know what had happened and had never been able to remain awake in dreams before that day.

Ch. 391Equality

Alice learned that Heath Doyle had searched for a key in a shared dream and accepted his thanks in exchange for spreading her faith. She then went to lunch with Klein, where Frank Lee described his unusual approach to gender equality and his hopes for agriculture.

  • Heath Doyle told Alice that he had stayed lucid in a dream and desperately searched for a key he could not describe.
  • Gehrman Sparrow suggested Heath Doyle call Alice “Miss Fortune,” and Alice asked him to spread her faith.
  • Alice assigned Cattleya the task of spreading her faith, then pulled Klein from the captain’s cabin to get lunch.
  • Frank Lee offered Alice and Klein milk produced with bacteria he had cultivated, explaining that anyone could produce milk while taking them.
  • Frank Lee described his ideals of ending famine and achieving equality through unrestricted research, and Klein asked whether he could develop crops for dark, monster-filled environments.

Ch. 392Mr. Fool, Can I Drink Your Milk?

After a terrifying storm passed, Alice and the crew of the Future went ashore to wait nearby, but a strange figure approaching through the air triggered a horrifying vision for Alice. The figure appeared to her as a white, rune-covered Great Serpent, and she screamed as it opened its jaws.

  • Alice wondered whether Frank Lee's milk-making research could lead to cockroach milk, and Klein firmly warned her not to experiment on him.
  • Admiral of Stars Cattleya announced that the Future would dock by an island and wait for a dangerous storm to pass.
  • A violent hurricane and lightning storm struck, then ended about fifteen minutes later, allowing the pirates to go ashore while staying within cannon range.
  • Alice found Klein walking on the beach, while Frank Lee collected samples from the island.
  • A blond young man flew toward them, and Alice saw him as a white, rune-covered Great Serpent with red eyes before screaming.

Ch. 393Bitten by a Snake

Alice recognized that Anderson Hood seemed to have been bitten by a snake, which she said meant he would become especially unlucky. Anderson described how a treasure-hunting expedition discovered a strange temple and an angelic figure in a mural appeared to open its eyes, leaving his story unfinished.

  • Alice hid behind Klein when Anderson approached, then said a snake had bitten him and that it meant he would become unlucky.
  • Cattleya identified Anderson as the Fog Sea’s “Strongest Hunter,” and Alice suggested Klein could claim the title by defeating him.
  • Anderson explained that he had joined an experienced treasure-hunting team to explore the Safe Shipping Lane’s ruins.
  • The team found a strange temple on a submerged island, where a mural showed a silver-haired angel leading a pilgrimage through parted seawater.
  • Anderson said the angel in the mural seemed to open its eyes after he traced lines in the air nearby, and Alice told him he should have touched the mural and criticized it.

Ch. 394You'd Better Run

Alice revealed that Ouroboros, the Angel of Fate, had learned she was alive, but she suspected he would wait for Fate’s revelation rather than pursue her. Anderson realized Alice was an Angel and asked how she had become one, while she joked that she had swallowed a Grade 0 Sealed Artifact.

  • Alice asked Klein to project Ouroboros’s image, and Anderson recognized him as the Angel from the painting that had brought him Doom.
  • Alice explained that Ouroboros had served the Ancient Sun God and that they were destined enemies, then told Anderson to run.
  • Alice told Klein that Ouroboros had discovered she was alive again, though she did not intend to flee because he showed no sign of pursuing her.
  • Anderson mistook Alice’s grave look as a threat to silence him and promised not to tell anyone, prompting Alice to tease him before laughing.
  • Anderson asked how Alice had become an Angel, and Alice said she had not advanced normally but had probably swallowed a Grade 0 Sealed Artifact.

Ch. 395Misfortune

Alice, Cattleya, Klein, and Anderson faced a Stone Giant on the island, but their attacks only slowed it until an earthquake split the ground and crushed it. The tremors ended with Anderson’s right foot trapped in a crack, leaving Alice to suspect his encounter with Ouroboros’s mural had caused the misfortune.

  • A Stone Giant emerged from the forest, and Cattleya identified it while testing the creature’s defenses with the Future’s cannons.
  • Anderson asked for someone with frost abilities, and Cattleya used a Freezing scroll to cover the Stone Giant in ice and slow it down.
  • Anderson raised his hands as if conducting applause, prompting Alice to clap before she realized the gesture was not an invitation.
  • An earthquake shook the island, forcing the pirates to return to the Future as the ground split and crushed the Stone Giant.
  • The tremors stopped with Anderson’s right foot caught in a crack, and Alice asked what he had done to Ouroboros’s mural.

Ch. 396At Least They Were Only Dead

Alice, Klein, Cattleya, and Anderson discussed the misfortunes that had befallen Anderson’s exploration team after they entered a temple. Anderson was left stranded on the island after his companions died, and Klein warned that encountering Alice could be worse than dying.

  • Klein asked Alice whether she had caused the earthquake, and she began boasting before hiding behind Cattleya when he raised his hand.
  • Cattleya’s sailors dug Anderson out of the Stone Giant’s wreckage, and Anderson said his bad luck began after he saw a painting in the temple.
  • Anderson explained that his exploration team split up after some members refused to go deeper into the temple, and those who left became extremely unlucky and gained control of themselves in the Dream.
  • A companion received an oracle about finding a key to open all treasures, led explorers into the Dream, and later committed suicide after calling the promise a lie.
  • Anderson said his ship sank in a storm, killing his remaining companions, while he washed ashore and broke his axe trying to build a canoe.
  • Alice offered to treat Anderson’s injured leg, and Klein remarked that his dead companions had been fortunate not to encounter her.

Ch. 397Method to Resolve Misfortune

Alice, Klein, and Cattleya encountered Anderson, who asked to join the Future and offered his knowledge of the waters ahead. Alice agreed to temporarily remove his misfortune but planned to return it when he left, and Anderson recognized Klein as Gehrman Sparrow.

  • Anderson mistook Alice and Klein for a flirtatious pair, and Alice nearly went to ask Frank to plant him in the ground.
  • Anderson asked to travel aboard the Future, and Alice refused until he offered to guide them through dangerous waters and help them find Mermaid's Song.
  • Alice considered killing Anderson and using Spirit Mediumship on him, but agreed to let him aboard after Cattleya demanded half his belongings when they left the waters.
  • Anderson warned that his misfortune could attract Monsters, and Alice said she would normalize his luck during the voyage and restore his misfortune when he left.
  • Alice introduced herself as Miss Fortune, and Klein introduced himself as Gehrman Sparrow, whom Anderson recognized as the adventurer who nearly hunted Vice Admiral of Disease.

Ch. 398Apollo

After Alice restored Anderson’s luck, a luminous Guardian armor descended onto her aboard the Future. She contained its radiance in her room, then named the armor Apollo as the ship continued onward.

  • Alice said Gehrman Sparrow had defected, then restored Anderson’s luck after Klein agreed.
  • Cattleya continued the Future’s voyage, while Anderson gathered rumors about Alice and Gehrman Sparrow from the crew.
  • A glowing armor from the Warrior Pathway’s Sequence 5 Guardian landed on Alice and wrapped itself around her.
  • Alice realized the armor’s dawn-like glow was its unavoidable negative effect and told Anderson it was compensation.
  • Alice trapped the armor’s light inside her room with a loop, returned to the deck, and named it Apollo.

Ch. 399Calling the Parent

Alice entered a strange place after sleeping in the Dream and met Leomaster, an Aurora Order pilgrim being hunted by the Saint of Darkness. When Alice's mirror reflection became a Great Serpent and attacked her, she called on the Evernight Goddess for help.

  • Alice tried to sleep in the Dream and woke in a storage room beside Leomaster, who warned her about a Devil pursuing him.
  • Alice introduced herself as Miss Fortune, learned Leomaster worshipped the Original Creator, and discovered he belonged to the Aurora Order.
  • Alice noticed her reflection copying her gestures before it emerged from the mirror, while Leomaster turned pale.
  • Alice screamed to draw the Saint of Darkness toward the room, then dodged her reflection after it transformed into a white Great Serpent.
  • Alice recited a prayer to the Evernight Goddess and called for help from her divine parent.

Ch. 400"Future" Produces Milk (These Are Two Chapters)

Alice and the crew of the Future faced bizarre mutations after Frank Lee’s creatures reproduced and began turning the ship into a milk-producing, vine-covered forest. Cattleya warned that the area held the aura of the Mother Goddess of Depravity, and a huge monster repeatedly tried to climb aboard before Alice’s power forced it back beneath the sea.

  • Alice woke from a strange dream, then found Frank Lee bewildered because his little creatures had reproduced and mutated inside the Future.
  • Milk burst from the deck and cannon ports, and Frank scattered powder that caused vines to grow across the ship and absorb the milk and creatures.
  • Cattleya warned Frank to stop because the aura of the Mother Goddess of Depravity remained nearby, then burned away the vines with colorless flames.
  • A pirate opened a watermelon growing from his head and died instantly, while Alice foresaw the grotesque brain-like contents inside it.
  • A huge grayish-black hand climbed from the sea and seized the Future, but a silver-white river appeared and sent the monster back underwater.
  • When the monster tried to climb aboard again, the crew looked to Alice, and Cattleya ordered Frank to help Nina instead of attempting another experiment.

Ch. 401Black Tulip

After the Future escaped a monster, Alice’s choices led the crew to encounter Admiral of Hell Ludwig and the Black Tulip. She left a Monocle Amon gave her on Ludwig’s ship, then joined the sailors’ funeral for Rivière.

  • Anderson’s flames drove the monster away while Nina and Frank steered the Future clear, and Alice learned Ludwig was likely nearby.
  • Cattleya spotted the Black Tulip and ordered the Future to prepare for battle.
  • Alice saw Ludwig and his undead crew, told a joke about using a dead brother to fight, and gave Anderson triple Doom.
  • Alice said she was trying to escape a certain-death situation, then vanished and dropped the Monocle Amon gave her onto the Black Tulip.
  • Alice joined Nina and the sailors as they prayed and held a funeral for Rivière.

Ch. 403Unfinished Transaction

After Alice and Klein reached the ruins where Anderson said they could find a Mermaid, the Dream drew Alice into Bernadette’s library, where Bernadette tried to negotiate with her. Alice rejected the offered diary and Card of Blasphemy and challenged Bernadette’s bargaining approach, leaving their negotiation unresolved.

  • Klein questioned Alice about what she had told Anderson, and Alice dodged his concern by joking that she would be fine even if Klein got together with Amon.
  • Klein and the crew sailed the Future through the ruins while time remained fixed at noon, until Anderson said a Mermaid might be found beyond the submerged complex.
  • Alice followed the Dream’s pull into a library, where she found Roselle’s Diary and a Card of Blasphemy marked Sequence 0: Wheel of Fortune.
  • Bernadette arrived with Klein and apologized for bringing Alice to the library, then tried to use the diary and card as bargaining chips.
  • Alice rejected those offers, saying Bernadette would need to offer a price that could move an Angel of the Fate pathway, and dismissed the value of Bernadette’s Sealed Artifact of the Soothsayer.
  • Alice asked why Bernadette had not tried to threaten her through Klein, then challenged Bernadette’s lack of respect and asked about her relationship with Cattleya.

Ch. 404Mermaid

In the dream library, Bernadette offered Alice the Card of Blasphemy, while Alice pushed Klein to stay and study. After they woke aboard the Future, they spotted Mermaids, and Klein prepared to pursue one for his advancement.

  • Bernadette identified herself as Queen Mystic and, after Alice showed little interest in bargaining, offered to give her the Card of Blasphemy.
  • Gehrman Sparrow urged Alice to leave, but Alice persuaded Klein to ask Bernadette to let him remain in the library until he left the Sea of Ruins.
  • Bernadette agreed that Klein could stay forever, and noon brought everyone out of the dream.
  • Alice went to the deck and saw Mermaids singing among the reefs.
  • Klein told Alice to prepare for his advancement, requested a small boat from Cattleya, and set off after she reminded him the Church of Evernight kept Mermaids.

Ch. 405Tour Guide Bernadette

Alice encountered Bernadette in a dream and learned about the Black Monastery, the route to the Land Abandoned by God, and the dangers tied to it. She suspected she might soon be drawn there as Bernadette led her and Klein through the dream world.

  • Anderson asked whether Alice was an angel of the Church of Evernight, and Alice explained that she had been Sequence 7 only a few months earlier before becoming an angel after swallowing a Grade 0 Sealed Artifact at Sequence 5.
  • Klein returned to the Future after completing his mermaid ritual, and the ship began its voyage back while Alice grew bored aboard it.
  • Alice went to sleep after a darkness covered the Future and was pulled into a dream where she met Bernadette and Klein at a spiral staircase.
  • Bernadette explained that she was protecting Heath Doyle from the True Creator's ravings and revealed that a rumored path to the Land Abandoned by God lay within the projection of the Giant King's Court.
  • Bernadette said a dream belonging to Saint of Black Leomaster was in the area, and Alice predicted she might have to visit the Land Abandoned by God.
  • Bernadette guided Alice and Klein through the Black Monastery and explained that its doors and floors represented places and dreams across the sea region.

Ch. 406Distress Signal

Bernadette showed Alice and Klein a dangerous Dream and revealed that it was about to end. After waking, Alice and Klein investigated a strange fish Frank Lee had caught, and Heath Doyle used its severed fingers to send a message asking for help.

  • Bernadette opened a black door to reveal a golden ocean and a glimpse of the Sun, then warned that even she would not dare enter the Dream within.
  • Klein said Bernadette's name in Ancient Feysac, activating the Black Emperor card, and Bernadette announced that the Dream was about to end.
  • After waking, Alice met Frank Lee in the dining hall, where he showed her and Klein a fish with three human fingers in its stomach.
  • Heath Doyle identified the fingers as belonging to a Rose Bishop and made them spell "Help!" on the dining table.

Ch. 407Kill Him

Alice followed Leomaster’s cry for help into a dream, where he was being pursued by a Black Armored Knight, and helped him escape toward the Giant King’s Court. After Leomaster’s prayer opened a fissure between the peaks, Alice made the knight drop his sword and told Leomaster to kill him.

  • Alice saw Leomaster fleeing the Black Armored Knight in a dream and decided she might save him because he could know how to enter the Land Abandoned by God.
  • Frank Lee imagined experiments using Rose Bishop flesh, and Alice fled his dream when he looked at her with interest.
  • Alice encountered Anderson Hood and Klein in the Mural Hall before Leomaster and the Black Armored Knight burst in.
  • Alice grabbed Leomaster and dragged him out of the monastery while Klein and Anderson followed.
  • Leomaster prayed to the Lord of Everything Created, opening a deep fissure between the mountain peaks and drawing twilight toward the Giant King’s Court.
  • Alice caused the Black Armored Knight to drop his greatsword and ordered Leomaster to kill him.
