I was going to get my hair done this afternoon, so I didn't have time to write the fourth chapter. Besides, I felt the plot was perfectly poised here today.
Count it as one chapter I owed you. I'd make it up when I found the time.
Also, I saw readers in the comments saying that I'd taken a day off before and still owed four chapters. I said when I asked for leave back then that I couldn't make those up, so I didn't put them on the tally.
The main thing was, even if I owed four more chapters, I still wouldn't be able to make them up. As an author, I always acted within my means. If I could make them up, I would definitely say so. I couldn't force myself to promise something I couldn't do, so I hoped all of you readers could be understanding. Just treat it as giving the author a day off that day.
