Fifteen updates were an immense challenge to an author's body and mind alike. At this very moment, I was incomparably envious of those tentacle monsters who could steadily churn out thirty thousand words a day.
How did they do it?
The author had dragged himself out of bed at four thirty this morning and written until nine thirty, finishing five chapters. After breakfast, he wrote from nine forty-five until eleven fifty-three, finishing another two chapters. After lunch, he continued at twelve thirty and wrote all the way until nine at night, finishing another eight chapters. Only then had he barely managed to complete fifteen updates. I was utterly spent from writing—it was even more exhausting than going to work.
Actually, by this point, everyone should be able to see that there was nothing wrong with the author's pace. There really had been no dragging things out; if anything, it had even sped up to some extent. Otherwise, I would not have suddenly gone from three updates back to four in the middle of the month. I truly felt that if I did not write like this, I might not be able to seek gold on July 1.
Looking back now, I should not have said I would seek gold on July 1. Setting the date in stone had forced me to write myself to death just to bring the progress to a satisfactory finish by that day.
No matter what, the author was very satisfied with this stretch of the story.
I hoped that after finishing it, all you esteemed readers would also feel that I had written well. Throwing me a monthly vote and praising me a few times in the comments would be the greatest comfort to the author.
