Witch Ghost Secret Realm, Tingyou Sect's main altar.
Unlike the other parts of the secret realm, this place, as the Tingyou Sect's main altar, was regularly cleared of Witch Ghosts by Ghost Messengers. Over time, a city had even been built here.
It was called the City of Wrongful Death.
At the center of the towering city, a statue pierced straight into the clouds.
Nearly eighty percent of the secret realm's population had gathered within this City of Wrongful Death. Every moment of every day, they could see that Heaven-Reaching Statue.
Its features were unmistakably those of the Tingyou Sect's Patriarch. Beneath the statue stood a magnificent, resplendent hall—the secluded cultivation grounds of the Tingyou Sect's eight elders. The Tingyou Sect had no sect master and revered only its Patriarch, so all affairs were decided jointly by the eight elders.
Under normal circumstances, only one of the eight elders took turns on duty, while the other seven remained asleep.
After all, the Tingyou Sect's system involved feeding ghosts with one's own body, resulting in an extremely short lifespan. Without using this method to prolong their lives, they would be devoured by the backlash of Witch Ghosts within a few years.
Yet at this moment, six elders had entered a state of awakening.
The First Elder, White Impermanence, sat upright in the seat of honor. He looked exceedingly young, dressed all in white, tall and lean, with a chilling smile forever hanging on his face.
"The Patriarch Statue has been destroyed. This is no small matter."
"Before the statue was destroyed, it conveyed the Patriarch's decree: we are to find the person who destroyed it at any cost. That is why I awakened all of you junior brothers."
Having said that, White Impermanence looked toward the two empty seats and frowned.
