Unlike other bases, the Antarctic Base was primarily built beneath the ice. First, for secrecy; second, because of the base's purpose—it was mainly used to research biological, or rather... biochemical weapons.

That was also why the base had been built in the uninhabited region of Antarctica. If something went wrong, it would still be far easier to contain than elsewhere.

But now, the people at the Antarctic Base were finding that there was no one to answer their cries for help.

"Request reinforcements immediately! Deploy the emergency response MS squad to suppress them!"

The person in charge of the Antarctic Base was drenched in sweat. Just moments ago, Zone Three, where those monsters were being held, had completely gone silent. They had sent in an MS squad to suppress them, but unexpectedly, the monsters that had previously behaved themselves had become exceptionally cunning. If the base had not been so cramped, and if those monsters had not been flying creatures unable to maneuver properly in such confined quarters, the situation would have been even worse.

"We don't know, but the Mutalisks may have made it. What do we do now?"
