The tattered Stars and Stripes lay scattered across the ground, corpses everywhere. Flames burned amid the city's shattered ruins, and the White House had already become a wasteland.

The Brood Lord's enormous body howled through the air and smashed Lincoln Memorial Hall to rubble, roaring as it charged at the Decepticons opposite it. The Decepticons raised their weapons and launched wave after wave of attacks at the surging Swarm. Screaming missiles plunged into the Swarm, erupting in chains of flames that blasted tens of thousands of Zerglings and Hydralisks into bloody fragments. Yet at the same time, even more of the Swarm surged forward and broke through the blockade.
They leaped onto the Decepticons, tearing apart that hard steel, biting their arms, limbs, weapons, heads, and everything else into pieces. A Decepticon raised its Greatsword and drove it fiercely into the Brood Lord before it, but the next moment, a Mutalisk descended from the sky, pinned it to the ground with its foreclaws, and bit off the Decepticon's head in a single bite.
At the same time, the energy core inside the Decepticon suddenly shone with a blinding radiance.
An enormous explosion equivalent to three hundred nuclear bombs erupted into the sky, sweeping across all of Washington and devouring every living thing caught within it, turning them to ashes amid the flames. But before even the dust and debris floating in the sky could fall, billions of Swarm creatures surged forth once more, charging valiantly ahead and continuing their boundless assault upon their enemies.
Behind them, the once-prosperous city had completely become the Swarm's nest. Eggs rolled forth from the hatcheries one after another, then swiftly shattered and split apart. The newly born Zerg did not hesitate in the slightest, charging back toward the battlefield like battle-hardened veterans.
