Not long afterward, every channel on every television station across the whole world suddenly began airing a rather strange "special program" at the exact same time.
The entire program lasted three hours and showed scenes that left many people utterly baffled. It took place somewhere resembling a courtroom, where a group of people were put on trial. The whole process was ordinary and even somewhat tedious. It was simply a group of people being tried for strange crimes that no one could make heads or tails of.
Of course, some of them were also accused of being connected to disappearances and accidental deaths caused by mysterious local legends. Other than that, though, there seemed to be nothing particularly noteworthy. The final punishments also fell far short of the audience's expectations. Apart from bizarre phrases like "forcible removal of Magic Crests," which most people could not understand at all, only some of those called Magi were sentenced to death or fixed prison terms.
In the end, an old man stepped forward and publicly admitted that the age of Magi had passed.
Frankly speaking, this "three-hour relaxation special" made absolutely no sense to most people. Not only had they never heard any of the names mentioned in it, they had no idea why the trial was being held in the first place.
Quite a few people thought it might be some kind of movie. At the beginning, after all, the "program" had shown a battle scene straight out of a film, with a group of girls besieging a woman while all sorts of mysterious magic appeared one after another. It felt like a blockbuster.
But if it really was a movie, then a three-hour film like this was just too much! Would anyone actually watch it?
