In the lavish conference room, everyone sat around the round table, solemnly watching the Pope—and Red Ponytail, who was boredly munching on an apple beside him.
Or rather, they spent even more time watching Red Ponytail.
"Although there was a minor mishap, welcome to Romania, everyone."
The Pope had recovered his composure by now. Though the occasional glance he cast toward Red Ponytail still carried instinctive fear, his faith supported him as he continued speaking.
"This time, I invited everyone..."
"Please wait, Your Holiness."
Before the Pope could finish, a burly man on the other side interrupted him. This man was none other than the Emperor of Germania—the King who had nearly married Henrietta back then. He stared gravely at Red Ponytail, who was noisily chewing her apple, and spoke.
"I have a question for this divine envoy."
"Hm? What is it?"
Red Ponytail took another bite of her apple and glanced at him.
"What exactly are you trying to do?"
"Hm?"
"Tristain, and Gaul."
Germania III pointed at Henrietta and Tabitha, who stood silently nearby.
"According to what you said, both of these countries have now successfully come to believe in the god you serve..."
"Oh, let me interrupt you there."
Before the Emperor could finish, Red Ponytail cut him off.
"I never demanded that their citizens had to believe in my god. There's freedom of religion, after all. We're free to follow this religion, free to follow that religion, and free not to believe in any religion, right? Forcing others to believe is illegal. Besides, ancestor worship isn't some huge problem..."
At that, Red Ponytail gave a cold snort and glanced at the Pope.
"As long as certain people don't keep telling lies until they fool themselves."
"Don't you need faith?"
Germania III was rather astonished by this.
