Compared to the other Hogwarts students, Airi had little interest in the Triwizard Tournament. Standing behind Dumbledore, she was so bored she was practically about to fall asleep.
If she had a choice, she would much rather have stayed in the warm castle than waited out here in this awful weather for some guests. In Airi's eyes, these people were nothing more than Passerby NPCs. Unfortunately, as a teacher, she had to stand here stupidly... Airi was starting to regret becoming the Magical Creatures Protection Class teacher.
Fortunately, these supporting characters did not keep Airi waiting for long. Soon, amid the students' cries of surprise, a massive carriage pulled by several winged horses descended from the sky and landed on the lawn before Hogwarts Castle. Then, a giantess nearly as tall as Hagrid strode down from the carriage—before her, even Dumbledore could only look up.
"Ah, my dear Madame Maxime, welcome to Hogwarts."
Dumbledore approached with a smile and looked at the giantess before him, who smiled and nodded in return.
"Dumbledore, I hope you are well."
"Very well, thank you. Would you prefer to wait here for our other friend, or go inside and warm up first?"
"I'd rather warm up... but I hope you can take good care of my horses."
"Of course. We have a very capable Magical Creatures Protection Class teacher."
As he spoke, Dumbledore turned with a grin to look at Airi. With a helpless sigh, she stepped out from the crowd and approached the horses. Seeing the little girl before her, Madame Maxime immediately frowned.
"Forgive me, Dumbledore, but my fine horses need... well... someone very strong to look after them. They are quite fierce. This child, she... won't she be in danger?"
