As Mei Misaki walked through the hospital's entrance, she looked somewhat gloomy.
Mei Misaki was a student at Yoru Kita Junior High School. She had short black hair, skin so pale it was almost bloodless, and a white eyepatch over her left eye. At first glance, she looked like a tiny, adorable, yet aloof girl.
Besides that, she had another identity: the "Nonexistent Person" of Class 3-3.
Because of that "curse," Class 3-3 chose a "Nonexistent Person" every year, and Mei Misaki was the one chosen this year. To her, it was nothing worth caring about. Perhaps other students would suffer and worry over it, but for Mei, even if everyone ignored her and she had no contact with anyone, it was no problem.

Misa Fujioka.
She was Mei's younger sister. Although Mei told others they were cousins, they were actually biological sisters. When they were born, Mei's mother's sister lost her child, so Mei, the elder sister, was adopted from the Fujioka family into the Misaki family. Even so, the two remained very close.
