In 2001, the United States and its allies formed a coalition and invaded Afghanistan in the name of the "War on Terror." From then on, an eighteen-year war began. Millions were killed or wounded, and tens of thousands of innocent people fled their homes, crossing mountains and ridges westward in hopes of starting over in foreign lands as refugees.
But for the countries of Europe, watching seas of refugees crash against their borders felt about as pleasant as eating shit.
And as Shizuku looked at those "refugees" outside the window, she felt exactly the same way.
What the hell did this have to do with me?!
In the narrow, dark alley below the building, all kinds of yokai were crammed together like refugees waiting at the Mexican border to sneak into the United States. Of course, Shizuku didn't recognize most of them. They were nothing more than Mountain Spirits and Earth Monsters, along with relatively harmless yokai like Nekomata and Zashiki-warashi...

Liz L. Charles was practically on the verge of tears. Ever since this mob of yokai refugees had arrived, her café had been unable to do business. It wouldn't have been too difficult for the Black Tea Fairy to throw them out, but a café wasn't a refugee camp. With so many yokai downstairs, the poor, weak, helpless Tsukumogami was nearly driven to despair.
Fortunately, although a huge crowd of yokai had packed into the alley below, none of them dared come upstairs. After all, Shizuku and Frostmourne exerted a double layer of pressure here, and spirit dolls filled the entire stairwell. No yokai had the death wish required to go up to the second floor.
