After having Mayu Hinase protect the two of them, Shizuku flashed away. Mayu obediently remained in her seat, anxiously watching her surroundings. To Mayu, this was merely a bustling street. Between the crowds and the neon signs flashing all around, aside from its somewhat foreign atmosphere, there seemed to be nothing particularly unusual about it.
And monsters were here, abducting so many people?
Mayu did not know much about monsters. Most of the incidents she had encountered with Shizuku involved evil spirits. Although Mayu also knew Kagari no Kiri-e, Shizuku, Yukina, and Liz L. Charles, those monsters felt more like humans with supernatural powers than actual monsters.
What were real monsters actually like?
Meanwhile, in order to call the police, the company employee driving the car got out and contacted the police in a low voice. This made Meixing, seated in the front passenger seat, extremely agitated. She looked around, then finally could not resist shouting.
"I can't stand this! I'm going to look for my brother too! I'm not going to just sit here waiting!!"
With that, Meixing grabbed the head sculpture and flung open the door, rushing out.
Poor Mayu did not understand Chinese at all. Thus, while she had noticed Meixing speaking, she had no idea what Meixing was saying. Mayu had originally wanted to ask Pei to translate for her, but when she saw Meixing push open the door and get out, she immediately understood what Meixing intended to do despite the language barrier.
"W-Wait, you can't go! Sister Shizuku said no... Come back!!"
Realizing things had gone terribly wrong, Mayu pushed open the car door and tried to stop her. However, Meixing was even faster than Mayu had imagined. In just a few moves, she slipped into the crowd and vanished.
"What should I do...?"
