Following Shizuku as she slaughtered her way through the mountain gate, Takigawa Hoshou felt as if he were dreaming.
To be honest, when he had heard Shizuku talk about how the Amatsukami were going to free Amaterasu and rule the world again, Takigawa Hoshou had thought it was utter nonsense.
Yet when he saw Tsukuyomi—a god from legend—with his own eyes, Takigawa Hoshou was completely dumbfounded.
But before he could recover, Shizuku mercilessly swung her greatsword and killed that god outright. This shocked Takigawa Hoshou even more, making him feel as though his entire worldview had been thoroughly shattered.
However, this was only the beginning. The one standing in their way next was another legendary god, Ame-no-Tajima-no-Kami. He was immensely famous in the mythology of Japan, the god of combat and strength who had taught sumo to the people. He could be called the founder of this country's martial arts.
And the real Ame-no-Tajima-no-Kami was an enormous, hulking giant nearly three meters tall, as fat and sturdy as a sumo wrestler. When he curled himself into a ball and charged at them like the "Invincible Wind Fire Wheels," Takigawa Hoshou's legs went weak with fright.
Yet Shizuku dealt with this equally powerful god in a straightforward manner. She opened with Howling Blast and froze him solid, then went up and used Death Strike to chop off Ame-no-Tajima-no-Kami's head. Like Tsukuyomi, he turned into a beam of light and shot into the sky, vanishing into the golden scroll hanging in the night.
But none of those shocks compared to what he was seeing now.
"This is... Ama-no-Iwato?"
Looking at the massive boulder hidden deep within the underground Great Cavern, bound by countless Curse Talismans and ropes, Takigawa Hoshou couldn't help drawing a sharp breath.
This was a story known throughout all
