Night soon fell.
Although they did not know the time ratio between the illusion and the real world, everyone still felt quite exhausted after the sun went down. Before long, they returned to their rooms at the inn and fell into a deep sleep.
No one knew how much time had passed before scorching heat and screams jolted them awake. When they opened their eyes, all they could see were flames soaring into the sky and hear screams coming from outside.
What had happened?
Still groggy, everyone opened their eyes and looked around in bewilderment.
Then, in the next instant, they were stunned by the monsters that smashed through the door.
Those were... goblins!!!
"Cackle, cackle, cackle..."
Airi silently shook her head as she looked at the soot-covered group before her.
"I never thought you would make such a mistake..."
"..."
Hearing Airi's usual mockery, everyone lowered their heads, clenched their fists, and wore unwilling expressions.
The reason was simple. This time, they had been wiped out not because they had fallen into a goblin trap, been ambushed, or been caught off guard in battle. It was simply because... they had not gotten out of bed.
That was right.
They were students, after all, and could not break their habit of changing into pajamas before bed. By the time they realized something was wrong and wanted to change clothes, grab their weapons, and fight, the goblins had already burst through the door and pounced on them.
Without weapons or armor, aside from a few martial classes that fought with fists and feet, no one else could possibly face goblins barehanded. The result was that they were either killed by goblins while completely unprepared or burned to death while fleeing in panic.
It was practically the most humiliating way to die.
