Wind Concealment
The thirty-person team was about to enter the core region of the Star Dou Great Forest. The atmosphere here was already completely different from that of the outskirts.
"The core region is far more dangerous than the outskirts. Everyone, keep an eye on one another and don't get separated. Wind Concealment, it'll soon be time for you to show what you can do," Reid said as he turned back to the members behind him.
Wind Concealment had known from the very beginning just how difficult this mission would be, so he had kept his attention highly focused at all times.
"Sixth Soul Skill, Ultimate Concealment!"
Wind Concealment used his strongest Soul Skill aside from his Martial Soul Avatar. This skill could completely hide the figures of targets within its range, erasing even their auras.
After Wind Concealment used his Soul Skill, the bodies of all thirty people gradually turned transparent and slowly blended into the surrounding environment.
The instant their auras vanished, Rota, who had been tracking them, was slightly startled. "How scary. To completely conceal their auras in an instant... If this old man hadn't been following them the whole time, I might've lost them~"
Rota had previously wondered how these people planned to infiltrate the depths of the Star Dou Great Forest. So they had such a crucial Soul Master among them.
"Just as expected of Wind Concealment! We're completely invisible now. This means we don't have to worry anymore!"
The members of the Treasure Hunting Team could not help but marvel at the effect of Wind Concealment's Soul Skill.
"Don't celebrate too soon. Although my Soul Skill can erase our auras, we'll still be discovered if we get careless and disturb the things around us. So be careful," Wind Concealment said, feeling that he needed to teach these people some common sense. Otherwise, it would be terrible if they caused a major disaster.
"Of course, Wind Concealment is right! We'll definitely be careful!"
After being lectured by Wind Concealment, no one said any more nonsense. They had entered a dangerous area now; if something unexpected happened, it would not be easy to deal with.
At the front of the team, Fick glanced back at Wind Concealment before speaking to Reid beside him. "Ah, if we didn't have Wind Concealment on this operation, I don't even know what things would look like. I'm starting to feel a little scared myself!"
Reid did not pay much attention to Fick's attempt at conversation. That was simply Fick's personality. Reid had become fairly familiar with him, and his usual way of dealing with such behavior was to ignore him.
If they successfully found the Soul Bone, Fick would not be wearing this same expression. In the end, Reid still had to stay on guard at all times.
"You're really so cold. Am I really that annoying? Boohoohoo..." Fick teased in an exaggerated manner.
"If you keep this up, then we won't look for the Soul Bone anymore. No one will get any benefit!" Reid was genuinely getting fed up. Fick's personality was truly irritating.
Reid's wariness of Fick deepened slightly. The two of them did not belong to the same faction, and Fick's personality was difficult to read. He could not let down his guard.
After Reid said a few words to him, Fick visibly quieted down. However, his slightly narrowed eyes revealed a deep mystery.
The Treasure Hunting Team had now entered the core region, and their pace had slowed considerably compared to when they were in the outskirts. The Soul Beasts of the core region were not comparable to those in the outskirts. Even the weakest Soul Beasts here were over a thousand years old.
Although they were all Soul Sage-level powerhouses, causing too much of a disturbance would inevitably attract powerful Soul Beasts, posing a tremendous threat to the team's safety.
"This is bad. A Soul Beast that is at least ten thousand years old is charging toward our position from the distance."
The Perception Type Soul Sage in the team detected the aura of the approaching Soul Beast and promptly reported it to everyone.
"How is that possible? My Soul Skill can't possibly have lasted such a short time. With my continuous Soul Power supply, there's no way a Soul Beast could have discovered us."
Wind Concealment could not believe the Perception Type Soul Sage's words at all. They had been extremely cautious the entire way, so it was impossible for them to have caused any disturbance.
"But I'm telling the truth. There really is a ten-thousand-year Soul Beast coming at us!" The Perception Type Soul Sage's certain tone left Wind Concealment unable to refute him.
Seeing that something was wrong, Reid spoke up. "Don't panic. Don't throw yourselves into disarray first."
No matter the circumstances, remaining calm was a basic quality every Soul Master should possess. Only calmness allowed one to think clearly. If they were frightened by such a minor obstacle, they were undoubtedly unqualified.
"Oh dear, this is quite a big problem~" Rota, following close behind the team, also sensed the Soul Beast ahead through Observation Haki.
If they could not immediately deal with this Ten Thousand Year Soul Beast, it would definitely draw even more Soul Beasts.
Watching the Treasure Hunting Team fall into a crisis, Rota sighed. It seemed he would have to lend them a hand.
Just as Rota was about to act, Wind Concealment made his move.
"Fifth Soul Skill, Bewildering Illusion!"
Suddenly, a phantom identical to Wind Concealment appeared in everyone's sight.
"I've thought of a way. My illusion can lure this Soul Beast away."
With that, Wind Concealment controlled the illusion and had it take the initiative to meet the approaching Soul Beast.
"It worked! That Soul Beast has changed direction!" the Perception Type Soul Sage said in delight.
In an instant, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Fortunately, Wind Concealment had helped them this time. Otherwise, the first problem they encountered would not have been so easily resolved.
"This illusion consumes part of my Soul Power, and the Soul Power supplying the concealment will be divided. We must leave this place as quickly as possible while we have the chance."
Wind Concealment had too many things to manage. He had to maintain the concealment Soul Skill while also controlling his illusion to draw the Soul Beast's attention. His ability to multitask was enough to demonstrate his strength.
"Just as expected of the wielder of the Chameleon Martial Soul. Although it lacks offensive power, its support effects are absolutely top-tier," Fick could not help but praise.
Although Wind Concealment's Chameleon Martial Soul was indeed impressive, it did not provide much support to the Soul Master's individual strength. Its team benefits could only be said to outweigh its individual benefits.
"I didn't expect them to solve it like that. It seems there are some monster-like people in this group too~"
The monster Rota referred to was Wind Concealment. In certain aspects, Wind Concealment truly deserved to be called a monster.
Any Soul Master capable of escaping danger through his own strength had some ability. Without Wind Concealment in this Treasure Hunting Team, who knew how many losses they would have suffered.
Even with Fick and Reid, two Soul Douluo, present, it would have been impossible to kill a Soul Beast over ten thousand years old without making the slightest sound.
"Everyone, pick up the pace for now. Find a safe place to rest temporarily," Reid said, turning to look at Wind Concealment. Ever observant, he had already noticed the beads of sweat running down Wind Concealment's cheeks.
Multitasking consumed far too much of Wind Concealment's Soul Power. They had to find a relatively stable place for him to recover his Soul Power.
After Reid gave the order, everyone moved much faster, gradually putting more distance between themselves and that troublesome Soul Beast.
Only after the team had completely retreated beyond the Soul Beast's detection range could Wind Concealment dispel the illusion. Otherwise, all their efforts would be wasted.
For now, the Treasure Hunting Team's top priority was to get away from that troublesome Soul Beast. Once they had retreated to a safe place, they could see whether there was somewhere they could rest for a while.
As they moved, Wind Concealment was already being supported forward by the two people beside him. Multitasking naturally affected his concentration, and his speed was affected as well.
