I'll Practice with You

Rota's sudden appearance gave everyone hope of survival. The saying about finding a way out in desperate circumstances perfectly described Reid and the other two's situation.

"Who are you?" Reid was the first to react and asked Rota.

"Me? You may call me Kizaru. I am also an elder of Spirit Hall, you know~"

The appearance of a Spirit Hall elder in this place was enough to explain many things. The first thing that came to mind was the Soul Bone.

"Elder Kizaru, did you come here for that Soul Bone? If so, I'm sorry, but it was taken by someone named Fick." Reid hurriedly explained to Rota. The first thing he needed to do was build a good relationship with this Spirit Hall elder.

In this situation, Elder Kizaru was the only one who could help them escape. Those ungrateful wolves in his own team were utterly unreliable.

"I already know about that. I have the Soul Bone, and as for that fellow named Fick, he may already be dead~"

Rota's words revealed the news that made Reid and the other two happiest: Fick, that rule-breaking bastard, had already been dealt with. It was truly satisfying!

"Great! That guy deserved exactly this kind of ending!" Reid could not have felt more delighted.

Wind Concealment and Jin Ling were no exceptions. They hated Fick to the bone as well. All these troubles had been caused by Fick alone.

The previously tense atmosphere somehow gradually calmed after Rota appeared.

After Rota's arrival, Reid and the other two felt as though they had taken a calming pill. Not a trace of nervousness remained, even though the Blazing Sun Lion King stood right before them.

"Oh dear, I nearly forgot there's a little fellow destroying the environment who needs a proper lesson~"

Reid and the other two could be set aside for now. The most important thing was to deal with the troublesome Blazing Sun Lion King before them.

"Hello, hello. I know you can understand human speech. For my sake, please stop making things difficult for these three~" Rota's tone was entirely commanding, leaving no room for negotiation.

What kind of Soul Beast was the Blazing Sun Lion King? The king of lions. And with the potion's effects not yet over, how could it possibly let the three before it off so easily?

More importantly, these three humans had injured it. That was the most unbearable part.

The Blazing Sun Lion King was already furious when Rota suddenly appeared to interfere. How could it simply let this go? It did not take Rota seriously at all, merely snorting a stream of scorching sparks from its nostrils.

"Ah~ Looks like it won't be that simple after all~" Rota had hoped to avoid fighting if possible, but the Blazing Sun Lion King had clearly been driven into a frenzy.

"No helping it, then. Since you want to play, little lion, I'll indulge you~"

The Blazing Sun Lion King understood Rota's words and immediately prepared for battle. Its instincts told it that this human was no easy opponent.

But the dignity of a king could not be violated. The Blazing Sun Lion King would never retreat without a fight. Even if it lost, it had to lose without regrets.

"Lord Reid, it looks like they're about to fight!" Wind Concealment said to Reid, who was also watching the battle from nearby.

The three had good judgment. Knowing they would only be in the way, they immediately retreated far away.

"Yes, but we've already enraged the Blazing Sun Lion King. Even a Spirit Hall elder may need to put in some effort!" Reid analyzed seriously.

"You make the first move, little lion~"

When had the Blazing Sun Lion King ever suffered such contempt? This human before it did not take it seriously at all, which only made it angrier.

The Blazing Sun Lion King's gaze grew fiercer. It intended to teach this human, who looked down on Soul Beasts, an unforgettable lesson.

Scorching flames wrapped around the Blazing Sun Lion King's entire body as it extended its powerful lion paw and struck at Rota.

Rota felt a slight urge to play around as well and raised his left hand to block the Blazing Sun Lion King's fierce attack.

"How scary. Your strength really is impressive, like a monster~"

Rota's left hand and the Blazing Sun Lion King's right paw remained locked against each other, appearing evenly matched.

Its all-out blow had actually been blocked by this human, leaving the Blazing Sun Lion King even more shocked.

Why had everything been going so badly today? Could any random person make it lose face? The Blazing Sun Lion King's mentality nearly collapsed. Had I been a fake Lion King all these years?

"So strong! He blocked the Blazing Sun Lion King's attack so easily!" Reid's eyes were filled with envy and excitement. He wanted such strength too.

Feeling that he had acted enough, Rota asked, "Not bad strength. Do you have any stronger moves? This level isn't enough, you know~"

The Blazing Sun Lion King bared its fiery-red fangs, glaring fiercely at Rota. If it could, it truly wanted to smash Rota to death with one paw.

Unfortunately, the Blazing Sun Lion King knew it could not. That strike had already used its greatest strength. No matter how much harder it tried, it could not overpower this human.

"That's all you've got? Then it's my turn to return the favor~"

Those calm words made the Blazing Sun Lion King's entire body tremble. It did not know why it could not stop shaking.

"Speed is weight. Have you ever experienced a Light Speed Kick?"

If it could choose, the Blazing Sun Lion King would choose not to experience it!

Unfortunately, Rota had already begun to move. Countless particles of light gathered around his right calf, and the glow grew increasingly dazzling.

The Blazing Sun Lion King felt a sense of mortal danger unlike any it had ever known. It had never felt this way even when facing those few in the forest, yet it now felt it when facing a human.

The Blazing Sun Lion King tried to control its body and move, but no matter how hard it tried, it could not control itself.

Rota was merely charging up his strength. He had not done anything else.

"How frightening~"

Just as Rota was about to strike, a voice came from afar. "Kizaru, show mercy... no, spare him with your foot!"

"Hm?" Rota turned toward the voice and discovered that it was the Sky Azure Bull Python.

When the Blazing Sun Lion King saw the Sky Azure Bull Python arrive, it hurriedly staggered away while Rota's attention was diverted. Pride of a Lion King? It could go as far away as it pleased!

"Really now, you actually let the little lion get away~ You'll have to take the blame for this~" Rota said, looking up at the Sky Azure Bull Python above him.

The Sky Azure Bull Python paid no attention to Rota's joking words. After letting out several earth-shaking laughs, it said, "Kizaru, don't we know your personality? If you truly wanted to attack, that little lion probably wouldn't have been able to escape at all!"

Rota withdrew his attack. "You're all such clever monsters~"

The horrifying scene unfolding before them left the three young onlookers completely dumbfounded...

"A Soul Beast... a Soul Beast spoke!" the three exclaimed in unison.

"It's no big deal for Soul Beasts to speak. There's no need to be so surprised~"

Rota's casual remark immediately made the three obediently shut their mouths. This was a conversation between big shots. The three of them had better behave and avoid angering them.

Reid had never expected to encounter something so extraordinary in his fiftieth year of life. If he had not risked his life this time to search for the Soul Bone, he might never have witnessed such a scene in his lifetime.
