"Eh? Old Heavenly Master, what did you just say?" Watanabe Shimizu looked at Rota in shock. He had not expected Rota to agree so readily.
Rota waved a hand, signaling Watanabe Shimizu not to get too worked up, and reassured him, "Young man, calm down. With evil forces causing trouble, this old man cannot simply stand by."
"So you agreed? But do we really have to go now? It's so dark out. What if we run into danger? How about we wait until tomorrow?" Watanabe Shimizu tried to persuade him. He did not want this kindly old man before him to fall into danger.
Rota pursed his lips in a faint smile and asked, "These evil things only emerge at night. If we go during the day, we will not find anything at all."
That did seem to make sense. Watanabe Shimizu made up his mind. "All right, I'll take you there now. This way, please."
Holding up a lantern, Watanabe Shimizu shakily led Rota toward the lumber mill. The night was pitch-black, and only the lantern's weak flame offered a sliver of comfort.
Rota strolled leisurely behind Watanabe Shimizu, without the slightest trace of fear, as though he were simply taking an after-dinner walk.
"Old Heavenly Master, are you really not afraid?" Watanabe Shimizu asked incredulously.
Rota answered calmly, "Of course not. Once you have seen enough of such things, you get used to them."
Whether it was the superhuman outsiders from the world of Under One Person, or the powerful soul masters and soul beasts of the Douluo Plane, all were far stronger than demons.
