The happy time passed quickly. The three master and disciples, along with Nezuko, enjoyed a wonderful time together.
Most of the pork blood cubes specially prepared for Nezuko ended up in her stomach. Tanjiro and the other two only sampled a few symbolically before giving the rest to Nezuko.
These pork blood cubes were practically the only food Nezuko could eat, so naturally Tanjiro and the others would not compete with her for them.
After the meal, Nezuko lay sprawled across Tanjiro's lap and fell into a deep sleep.
Tanjiro gently stroked Nezuko's cheek, his face full of affection.
"Tanjiro, now that you're a qualified Demon Slayer Corps swordsman, how do you plan to arrange things for Nezuko?" Sakonji Urokodaki slowly asked.
Tanjiro looked at Nezuko's sweet sleeping face and softly replied, "I'll probably take Nezuko with me to slay demons. I promised her that I'd always stay by her side."
"That works too. I'm quite reassured about this girl as well. Afterward, Giyu and I will vouch for you before the Master, so you don't need to worry too much."
A trace of delight flashed across Tanjiro's face as he looked at Sakonji Urokodaki and Giyu with a broad smile. "Master, Senior Brother, thank you so much!"
Sakonji Urokodaki ruffled Tanjiro's thick, long hair and said kindly, "We can be considered family already. This little favor is nothing."
"Mm, but your hair really does need trimming. You've spent the past three years focused entirely on training and barely paid attention to your appearance."
Once Sakonji Urokodaki brought it up, Tanjiro took a small mirror and examined himself carefully. One look gave him a fright. His hair was no different from that of the beggars by the roadside.
"Master, I'll go to a nearby village tomorrow and get cleaned up."
