Last September, I made a clever quip on a certain Q&A site. I never expected it to draw so much attention, and by a twist of fate, this book came to be. At first, I considered quite a few titles and even wrote a different opening, but in the end, I settled on the name "Battle Through the Heavens: I Am Nalan Ye."
This September marks exactly one full year. So much has happened over the past year. The book grew from nothing to two million words, Nalan Ye traveled from the Gamma Empire to the Central Plains, and a reader group vanished while it was still going strong... None of this would have been possible without the support of every reader.
School days were always so wonderful and worth remembering. Looking back... holy shit, I've already been graduated for nearly four months.
Working a regular job was never an option. These past few months, I've been writing at home, usually posting three chapters a day and sometimes four. I even cut quite a few plotlines and rushed as hard as I could, yet I still failed to finish the book.
I enlisted in the army. It's a two-year mandatory term, and I'm leaving tomorrow. I can no longer keep updating, so I can only put the story on hiatus for two years and see what happens after I return from service.
Two years is not a short time, but I will not forget Nalan Ye, nor will I forget every reader who supported me.
