I shouted, sword in hand.
One of the Southern Dragon King's arms had been severed by me. Pain twisted his face, and for the moment, my display had frightened him into hesitation. The Dragon Emperor Sword was simply too sharp. To the Ancient Void Dragon Clan, it was their natural nemesis!
The Northern Dragon King remained utterly fearless, his expression contemptuous. "Human, die!"
He raised a hand and drew an ancient golden halberd. He moved with astonishing speed; with a single charge, he seemed to traverse space itself, appearing before me in the next instant.
The golden halberd swung toward me with layer upon layer of afterimages. Cold sweat instantly broke out across my back, and I hurriedly raised the Dragon Emperor Sword to block it.
"Clang!"
The enormous collision made my entire arm ache, and my body slid uncontrollably backward for quite a distance before I barely managed to steady myself.
The Northern Dragon King was expressionless as he charged at me again. His golden halberd danced casually in his hand, and with a few effortless strikes, he forced me into a steady retreat.
I stared at the Northern Dragon King in horror, my mind still somewhat muddled. I had never expected the Dragon Emperor Sword's restrictions to be so severe. Did it have to touch the opponent's flesh to work?
He could block it just by casually taking out a weapon!
This was far too disappointing, completely different from what I had imagined. Logically, once the Dragon Emperor Sword appeared, shouldn't all Ancient Void Dragons bow and submit beneath the pressure of its bloodline?
"Or is it because my own bloodline isn't pure enough..."
