Snow Wolf Special Forces base.
She Ge looked at the office before him, hesitated no longer, and walked in. He had been training when the brigade commander suddenly summoned him. That was rather strange.
His instincts told him that this had to be something extraordinary. Otherwise, the brigade commander would not have summoned him alone. After all, he was only the deputy captain of the special forces unit, not the captain.
The moment he entered the office, She Ge saw a lean middle-aged man seated in the office chair. He was Zou Kai, commander of the Special Operations Brigade.
"Reporting, Brigade Commander." She Ge knocked, entered, and saluted before the desk.
"You're here. Have a seat." Zou Kai nodded at She Ge. "Sit down. There's something I need to discuss with you."
"What is it, Brigade Commander?" She Ge asked without ceremony.
"I want to ask you a question." Zou Kai gestured for She Ge to sit. "What I'm about to tell you is top secret."
She Ge straightened his back and focused with utmost seriousness.
Seeing his reaction, Zou Kai waved a hand, signaling him to relax.
"There is a plan from above, and candidates are currently being selected. Participation is voluntary. If you are unwilling, you may refuse. But once you join, you cannot withdraw. There is great uncertainty about what may happen. Anything is possible, including disability or even death. If it succeeds, you will join another special unit, and your status may even outrank mine."
Because the experiment was of great importance, only confidential personnel could participate. The special candidates had been screened, and there were no issues with either their identities or backgrounds.
But before it began, Zou Kai had to make every risk clear to prevent any problems from arising halfway through.
Top secret.
