"Bzzz, bzzz, bzzz..."
Chen Mo was sleeping when his phone woke him up. After he answered, Mo Nv's childish voice came through. "Brother Mo, two people are trying to sneak into the villa. They're climbing toward the second-floor balcony."
Sneak in?
Most of Chen Mo's drowsiness vanished instantly.
His villa had hidden surveillance cameras, and Mo Nv monitored the system. Once Mo Nv identified something as an illegal intrusion, she would alert him.
There had never been an alert since it was installed. He had not expected one in the middle of the night.
"Can you confirm their identities?" Chen Mo immediately asked.
"Their faces have been disguised. The lighting is too dim, and there are no frontal images, so they cannot be identified. It can be confirmed that they are foreigners," Mo Nv said.
"Foreigners? Disguised? Breaking into the villa? Notify the neighborhood security department immediately." Chen Mo's expression darkened. He bent down, picked up the sleeping Xiao Yu, and left the room.
"What's wrong, Chen Mo?"
Being picked up by Chen Mo, Xiao Yu groggily woke up as well.
"It's nothing. Don't ask yet." Carrying Xiao Yu, Chen Mo made his way through the darkness toward the basement.
Foreigners in disguise—anyone with half a brain would know they were not simply there to burgle the house. He could not determine who they were yet, but he had to ensure both Xiao Yu's safety and his own.
"Did something happen?" Cradled in Chen Mo's arms, Xiao Yu was instantly no longer sleepy.
"Someone broke into the villa. Don't talk for now," Chen Mo said quietly. He carried Xiao Yu into the basement and locked the door.
The basement door was made of iron. He believed they would never be able to break it open before the neighborhood guards arrived.
