Such a Good Girl

The two returned to the rental apartment after midnight. As soon as they entered, Xiao Yu blushed and carried her bag and newly bought clothes into the bathroom.

Before long, the sound of running water came from the bathroom. Sitting before the computer, Chen Mo gave a wry smile and sent the organized phone exterior design and interface design materials to Zhao Min's email.

After sending the materials to Zhao Min, Chen Mo continued designing the circuits. After relaxing today, his memories concerning those circuits had become even clearer.

He had obtained the phone motherboard design from the Sci-Tech Library. Now, as he organized the circuits, aside from removing some hardware, he was practically copying it verbatim.

After a long while, the sound of footsteps in the room pulled him away from the circuit diagram.

The moment he turned around, Chen Mo's eyes widened, and he froze in place.

Xiao Yu was wearing the spaghetti-strap nightgown they had bought earlier, her long, straight legs exposed to the air. Her skin was as smooth as mutton-fat jade, fair with a rosy glow. A faint fragrance drifted through the air, stirring one's imagination.

He had not expected Xiao Yu to appear before him in a nightgown, her still-damp long hair draped over her shoulders.

What did this mean?

In an instant, all sorts of thoughts sprang into Chen Mo's mind.

Realizing his thoughts had gone too far, Chen Mo came back to himself and fixed his gaze on Xiao Yu.

"Where's the hair dryer?"

Noticing Chen Mo's burning stare, Xiao Yu's cheeks flushed. She lightly tugged at the hem of her nightgown. It was her first time dressing so boldly in front of a boy. Even though he was her boyfriend, she still was not quite used to it.

"It's in the wardrobe. I'll dry your hair for you."

Chen Mo had lost all interest in working on the phone circuits. He shut down the computer, took the hair dryer from the wardrobe, sat behind Xiao Yu, and dried her hair.

Xiao Yu did not refuse. Her face rosy, she sat on the sofa and let Chen Mo dry her hair.

"You tricked me into coming back again," Xiao Yu said.

"You're the silly one. You forgot the time." Chen Mo laughed easily.

"You clearly knew what time it was and deliberately didn't tell me. I wanted to give you a surprise, but now I've decided to wait a while longer before giving it to you." Xiao Yu wrinkled her nose slightly and gave a soft huff.

"Don't. I was wrong, okay?"

"Apologizing won't help."

A slight curve appeared at the corners of Xiao Yu's lips as she enjoyed having Chen Mo dry her hair.

After her hair was dry, Xiao Yu immediately dodged Chen Mo's wandering hands and slipped into the bedroom.

Watching Xiao Yu's retreating figure, Chen Mo smiled faintly. He grabbed two changes of clothes and went into the bathroom. Not long after, he came out wearing only a pair of loose shorts. Once he had dried his hair, he entered the bedroom.

Xiao Yu's cheeks were crimson by then. After climbing into bed, she stared fixedly at the bedroom door, completely unable to sleep.

The moment the door opened, Xiao Yu stared blankly at the doorway.

Chen Mo was bare-chested. His body had well-defined lines, and there were even muscles on his abdomen. He looked very pleasing to the eye.

Realizing her thoughts had wandered again, Xiao Yu gave a soft spit. The blush on her face deepened to a vivid red and spread all the way to her ears. When she came back to herself, Chen Mo had already lain down beside her.

Seeing her dazed expression, Chen Mo laughed.

The lights suddenly dimmed, and the room fell into darkness. Only a faint glow from outside the window shone in, enough at such close range for them to see each other's faces clearly.

The moment he wrapped Xiao Yu in his arms, Chen Mo could clearly feel her body stiffen.

"Chen Mo, I have some bad news for you."

"What is it?"

"My period came."

"And you still played so wildly? You went into the sea breeze and washed your hair? Why didn't you tell me? Are you feeling unwell now?"

Hearing Chen Mo's string of questions and the slight tension in his voice, Xiao Yu's heart warmed. She nestled closer into his arms. "It's fine. It's not as serious as you think. I was sweaty and had been in the sea breeze, so my hair was all salty. Of course I had to wash it. It's fine once in a while, as long as I don't use cold water."

"Then go to sleep quickly. You can't stay up late." Chen Mo held Xiao Yu and cast aside his unnecessary thoughts.

Nothing more was said that night. Chen Mo did not know when he finally fell asleep, but he slept very peacefully.

When he woke up, Xiao Yu was no longer beside him.

Chen Mo climbed out of bed, rubbed his head, and dragged his corpse-like body out of the room.

"You're finally awake. Hurry up, wash your face and eat breakfast, or it'll get cold." As soon as he stepped out, Xiao Yu, who was sitting on the sofa watching a movie on his computer, looked up at him.

"Why didn't you sleep a little longer? Are you really okay?"

"I'm fine." Hearing the concern in Chen Mo's voice, Xiao Yu smiled softly.

After washing up, Chen Mo sat on the sofa and enjoyed breakfast. Xiao Yu had already washed his clothes and given the apartment a simple cleaning.

This simple life felt very relaxing. At that moment, Chen Mo was thinking about how to trick Xiao Yu into moving in, so he would never have to worry about food or clothing again.

"Chen Mo, I heard you rented a shop on Food Street?" Xiao Yu asked, interrupting his wild thoughts.

"How did you know?"

"Tong Tong told me. That foodie often goes there to buy snacks. She said she saw you there but wasn't too sure. I was preparing for the accountant exam these past two days, so I didn't ask you. Can you take me to see your shop today?"

"Sure."

After breakfast, Chen Mo took Xiao Yu and left the rental apartment.

As Chen Mo held Xiao Yu's hand and arrived at the shop, the auntie from the neighboring convenience store looked Xiao Yu up and down.

"Young man, is this your girlfriend? She's so pretty, such a fine girl. Play fewer games in the future, work harder, and make more money. Don't let such a good girl suffer with you."

"Uh..." Chen Mo looked at Xiao Yu, who was pursing her lips in a smile, feeling a little awkward. "I will."

"Phone repairs? That's great, boss. Please take a look at mine. My phone suddenly went black just now and won't turn on. I urgently need it. Can you fix it for me right away?"

Upon hearing Xiao Yu's words, a girl stopped and shoved the phone in her hand into Chen Mo's hands.

Xiao Yu blinked and looked back at him.

Chen Mo laughed and began taking the phone apart.

"How much will it cost to fix?" Suddenly remembering something, the girl hurriedly asked.

As soon as the young woman left, Chen Mo turned around to look for Xiao Yu.

Xiao Yu was wiping dust off the machines. The sweat on her forehead made Chen Mo's heart ache.

He wanted to tell Xiao Yu that this was not a phone repair shop. But if he told her now, things would definitely become awkward. After thinking it over, Chen Mo decided not to say anything.

"Leave it. I'll clean it later."

"I'm done already." Xiao Yu tossed aside the rag in her hand. "You work here first. I need to go back to the dormitory."

After helping Chen Mo clean up the shop, Xiao Yu said goodbye and left. Only after she was gone did Chen Mo focus on the computer before him and begin organizing the phone motherboard design.
