Before the Escape

There was a considerable difference between the Free Black Ant and the Hunter. Though both had been modified from the same template, the Free Black Ant was more powerful. Its engines alone numbered thirty-two—six large and twenty-six small—four more than the damaged mech had possessed.

The original mech had lost its head and arms, along with some of its engines, so Chen Mo had added them back when building the Free Black Ant. Green Water Star's small engines were less powerful than those of the damaged mech, but with proper balancing, the impact was minimal.

The Free Black Ant was difficult to control at first, but Chen Mo got the hang of it quickly.

He understood the Free Black Ant's capabilities and design, and he had already mastered the Hunter. He adapted quickly to the mech he had designed himself.

Now that the Free Black Ant was complete, Chen Mo needed to be ready to escape at any time. He did not know when the Three-Eyed Civilization's spaceship would arrive, but opportunities favored the prepared.

Mechs were linked to neural responses. As long as his neural reaction speed was fast enough, Chen Mo could dodge at incredible speeds. Even he did not know how far he had progressed, but he had long since been able to easily evade the supersonic training balls in the training ground.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

In the training ground, every training ball that came near Chen Mo was knocked away. Explosive collision sounds filled the area—the sound of mech fists striking training balls, as well as the sonic booms created by the training balls and mech moving beyond the speed of sound.
