Several people gathered around the lab bench, staring curiously at the Square Machine on it as they waited.
Tuo Shan and the others waited to see what exactly the thing their ancestors had protected for generations was. Chen Mo, meanwhile, waited to see whether this Square Machine held any clues about this space.
"Mo Ge, the scan is complete. It's a computer, but its power source is dead," Mo Nv said after putting away the scanning device.
"Connect it to a power source."
After Chen Mo's robot connected the Square Machine to the power source, he pressed a raised spot on the square box. He had just examined it and found only two unusual parts on the Square Machine: one was the lens, and the other was this protrusion, which should have been the power button.
Sure enough, the small lens on the Square Machine lit up. Something shifted at the back, and the mechanism inside the box moved, revealing a port. Then, a palm-sized display screen rose up.
The port was hexagonal, unlike any existing interface. Chen Mo had yet to figure out its circuitry, so he could not connect to the machine through data.
"It really works."
Tuo Shan and Mu Mang were the most excited. Their ancestors' relic had been passed down for centuries and could still be activated. How could they not be thrilled? It might contain their ancestors' history and the crystallization of their civilization.
The faint sound of the machine running came from inside the box, and the display screen had already lit up.
A computer that had been left sitting for over a thousand years could still function normally. Even Chen Mo was somewhat astonished. The Man Shan Tribe's ancestors had dared to undertake interstellar migration because they had such technological confidence, perhaps.
