Final Thoughts

This book is finished here.

To be honest, I'm overwhelmed with mixed feelings, to the point that I can't organize precise enough words to sum up the journey of this book from its first chapter to its last.

After thinking it over, I'll just talk about it loosely.

In other words, I'll say whatever comes to mind.

First, the problems with this book.

It went off the rails.

I know.

In the original outline, the Douluo arc was not supposed to end so quickly. There should have been at least another hundred or so chapters—around two more months' worth.

Those hundred-plus chapters involved the protagonist's psychological changes.

They would have turned him from darkened into a normal person.

Then, after Fox Spirit, Jade Dynasty, and Doupo, love would have filled that void, leading to a relatively happy ending.

But why didn't things develop according to the outline?

Because of the author himself.

I was a beginner.

This was my first book.

Although I had written some novels before, they had all been limited to a few thousand words. None of them got contracted, and I talked myself out of continuing them. This was the first time I had charged ahead and written over a hundred thousand words in one go, been noticed by an editor, signed a contract, and put on the shelves.

So I made many of the mistakes beginners make.

Including arguing with certain readers in the review section. (Laughs.)

So when some readers voiced their opinions, I got carried away in the moment and changed the outline at breakneck speed, wanting to force the pacing forward—and then it fell apart.

Naturally, it fell apart.

Looking back now, it all makes sense.

PS: Since the author himself thinks it makes sense, then obviously there's no problem with it.
