"I can't represent the Han Family."
Han Xue clenched her teeth. Though she knew what she was about to say would be humiliating, she still had to argue for the sake of her family and clansmen. "I can only represent myself."
"Then you can't blame me, can you?"
Lu Yuan seemed utterly unconcerned with Han Xue's difficulties, yet his questioning clearly betrayed more concern than he showed. Perhaps his heart had softened for a moment, or perhaps he was considering a longer-term arrangement more suited to his interests. After asking that question, he added calmly, "If you could represent the Han Family..."
"Then I will pay a price that satisfies you!"
Han Xue caught on quickly.
Without anyone teaching her, she understood Lu Yuan's meaning.
Gritting her teeth, she agreed without hesitation.
Then, she made her own demand. "But I hope to get the result I want!"
"Then I also hope to get a result that suits my wishes."
Lu Yuan spoke calmly.
He raised his eyes and looked toward the distant Tianbei City.
He neither rejected Han Xue nor became angry at her demand that he pay up first. He merely gave a composed reply that sounded more like a perfunctory answer. Then, he spread his Dou Qi Wings and flew toward Tianbei City nearby, with no intention of bargaining at all.
Or rather...
He simply disdained bargaining, didn't he?
Han Xue watched Lu Yuan's departing back and could not stop herself from giving a bitter laugh. If she put herself in his shoes, if she possessed the strength to make the entire Hong Family bow their heads, would she care whether a minor family that was weaker even than the Hong Family broke its word?
If they dared to break the agreement, they would dare to destroy them!
