Though the severely outnumbered Protoss troops were wiped out after a fierce battle, Bellavella's side was left with only a handful of battered survivors as well. Under normal circumstances, after suffering such heavy losses and with follow-up Protoss forces likely already on the move, they should have abandoned the mission no matter how one looked at it. Yet they had continued their task, remaining in Azeroth at the risk of being intercepted by Protoss reinforcements. At first, I could not understand why, and Bellavella herself had been deeply puzzled: if they only needed to find a World Heart, every world had one. It did not seem that they specifically needed the World Heart of any particular world, so they could have withdrawn from the already unsafe Azeroth first.
