One could even say that such statues had long surpassed their role as urban ornamentation and become spiritual pillars for the people. In this city, the God of War's statue stood in its most bustling district, and we happened to run into it.
It was a colossal stone statue standing at the intersection of three major city avenues, nearly ten meters tall and lifelike. The entire sculpture had clearly been blessed by some sacred ritual.
