Anu Lili had changed greatly since the last time we saw her.
The last time we met her, although she was a member of the Resistance Organization and possessed a warrior's awareness, she had never truly been tested by war. The girl had seemed somewhat immature then, carrying a shallow-rooted passion: full of confidence, brimming with energy, and burning with fighting spirit, yet all of it built upon faith, lacking any foundation in reality. But Anu Lili now looked the same, while carrying a faintly perceptible air of composure. It was the transformation of a young and impulsive idealist into a veteran who had truly experienced the battlefield. It was hard to believe a person could change so much in merely a month, but during the hardships of that past month, those who had not changed probably could no longer hold on.
There was a trace of exhaustion on Anu Lili's face. Clearly, she had not rested properly for several days in a row. She wore the Resistance Organization uniform, making her stand out sharply among the wounded civilians in ordinary linen clothes. There were only a dozen or so people around her wearing uniforms as well; the overwhelming majority, whether wounded people lying on beds or volunteers helping out, wore ordinary civilian clothing. After all, no matter how much the Resistance Organization expanded, it could not prepare uniforms for every armed slave.
When we approached, Anu Lili was giving instructions to a Resistance Organization soldier wearing a headband. Only after finishing the task at hand did she notice us, and delight immediately appeared on her face. "Ah! It's you! I saw the spaceship arrive just now, but I didn't expect you to come in person. It's wonderful to see that everyone is safe... It's a little chaotic here..."
