Shilin might have looked a little vacant and silly, but never mistake her for some airheaded girl. The place where she truly existed every moment was actually within the network. The Shilin in the material world was merely an interface for advanced communication with us. She could upload or download that interface to anywhere covered by the Empire network at any time. In other words, she had never truly focused her attention on the outside world.

Consequently, such an interface always had some trouble responding to the real world. Shilin was still unaccustomed to the various logic of reality, and she herself had little interest in it. She concentrated most of her attention on the immense volume of information within the network. To her, the Spiritual Network was the world that truly existed, while reality was a "virtual space" that had to be translated many times before she could understand it.
