The world was not indestructible.
Of course, that was only true to those who understood the nature of the world.
For the vast majority of races trapped within the world, the universe they inhabited was an unshakable mathematical system. They could see it, yet lacked the power to alter even a single footnote of cosmic truth. Every constant and conversion relationship that sustained the world seemed impossible to change. The speed of light was the first barrier that left mortals staring in despair, yet it was merely the most inconspicuous among countless "constant" barriers. Humanity might achieve faster-than-light travel, but making light propagate at a different speed under identical conditions seemed impossible. Likewise, it was hard to make one plus one equal three from then on, hard to alter the length of Planck Time, hard to change the range and fixed values of fundamental forces such as the strong and weak interactions. These things were the foundations upon which the universe existed. Every number seemed like an immortal boulder nailed to the earth, shaping the universe mortals could see into the form they recognized. Their "solidity" lay in the fundamental nature of these values. It was like a builder using bricks to construct a house. They could build it into any shape, add any decorations, paint it beautiful colors, even tear it down into rubble—but no matter what they did—
The definition of bricks in the world would not change because of their actions. The word "brick" would still refer to the same thing.
But to supercivilizations that had surpassed the shackles of the universe, the world looked entirely different. To the God Clan and the Shilin Apostles, the universe was an exquisitely
