The universe where Harlan was currently hiding lay near the Void's White Zone. It was desolate, remote, and completely unexplored by us.
We generally divided the Void into several regions according to the extent of the Empire's influence: the area fully ruled by the Empire, including the Imperial capital and containing all kinds of military fortresses, was the Imperial Territory, or simply the Empire Zone. It included the universes inhabited by the Minion Army, as well as the hundreds of universes gradually built over the past five years. Worlds like the Macro World, managed by the Empire but not subject to a declaration of dominion over the entire universe, were subordinate regions, also known as the Imperial frontier—well, we had quite an absurdly vast frontier. Beyond the Macro World, areas completely outside Imperial rule but still monitored by Imperial Reconnaissance Units or scanning systems were called the far frontier. This region was jokingly called the "Low Security Zone." Once you reached the far frontier, you could no longer receive any military protection from the Empire. Even asking the Macro World for aid would be extremely difficult. Other than the Imperial military, civilians would never casually venture into the far frontier.
Beyond the far frontier lay the endlessly vast Void. Excluding starfields and the territories of the Huron God Race and Fallen Apostles, all this unexplored Void was collectively called the "White Zone."
Nothing was known, nothing was guaranteed, and information about it was as blank as a sheet of white paper. That was the White Zone.
The world where Harlan was hiding lay right on the border between the White Zone and the far frontier. We had never set foot in that world, but if its information offset shifted another ten percent closer to Imperial territory, it would fall within
